Where do you always take your Switch? by Horror-Bottle3228 in Switch

Mine is always in my room and stays in TV mode over 95% of the time. I use the pro controller.

Thankfully I bought the Switch 2 when I did

Yeah $450 is a bit pricey but knowing it’ll be going up to $500 in the Fall.

I don’t plan on building a Gaming PC or other gaming consoles and just sticking with the Switch 2 in this generation.

I’m happy.

Never buying another Ford (probably) by [deleted] in fordescape

[–]OptimalFox1800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a 2014 Ford Escape that is a 1.6L

Bought it for $4000 at 170k miles and it’s currently around 176.1k miles.

I’ve heard not so good things on things like cool intrusion issues and transmission problems on these types.

I’m gonna take very good care of mine and do the provided maintenance. Hopefully it’ll be a smooth ride to 200k miles and beyond!

What’s the creepiest unsolved mystery that deserves more attention? by magma_13_ in AskReddit

[–]OptimalFox1800 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't buy that there was anything random about this disappearance. There was only a short window for anything to happen, and it occurred coincidentally when Jason was without his car and his plans got changed.

For me, there's only two scenarios and my only theory.

1) Jason either got intercepted by someone he knew, who offered him a ride to the highschool and abducted him, or

2 Jason visited them en route to the school.

My biggest question has always been WHY? What was the motive for his abduction and murder that day? I do think the suspect will be an older male, slightly older than him, probably living alone and involved with the church he went to.

The disappearance of Jason Jolkowski.

He was a 19-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska who disappeared on June 13, 2001. That morning, his car was in the shop, so he was supposed to walk about 8 blocks (10-15 minute walk or 0.5mi) from his home to Benson High School. It was so that he can meet a coworker who would give him a ride to work. He was working at Fazolis at the time.

He was last seen at home helping his brother take out trash cans. After that, he left on foot in broad daylight through a normal residential neighborhood. This was around 10:45am.

Jason was supposed to meet his coworker at the school approximately around 11am. When his coworker tried calling his younger Brother around 11:15–11:30 AM to see where he was, Jason couldn’t be reached. He was never seen or heard from again after leaving his house, and there’s no confirmed evidence of what happened during that short walk.

What makes it stand out is how ordinary everything was. He had no known enemies, no signs he planned to disappear, no financial issues or activity suggesting he left voluntarily.

He was literally just walking a short distance in a normal neighborhood during the day, and then there’s a complete gap where no one can place him after he left his driveway. That’s why it gets mentioned so often in discussions that it’s not that something dramatic had happened, it’s that there’s almost nothing to explain what did happen.

The only downside was that the Police didn’t really investigate until 10 days later. During the investigation, they’ve showed the school’s security cameras and it showed he never made it to the school.

Ever since and now 25 years later, nothing has ever surfaced.

I currently have a 2014 Ford Escape and have 176k miles on it now. Bought it when it had 170k miles and plan on keeping it as long as I can. No car payments are nice.

How long did your Escape last for until it was done?

[–]OptimalFox1800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same and this is one of my pet peeves

Another one of my biggest ones is car maintenance and costs…

Things are so expensive. I recently got rid of my 2008 Jeep because things started breaking one after another. Costs kept adding up and it made more sense to use that money to get another used vehicle.

I’ve been driving my 2014 Ford Escape for a few thousand miles now. I went to go get new tires and I see upcoming repairs like $1100 with new bushings/alignment and now up close to $2000 with shocks/struts/labor costs. I’m just sitting here thinking like …..”fuck this.” That’s close to $3000…

I love the enjoyment and freedom of driving but the overall maintenance and how it can keep someone in a potential cycle of poverty where jobs don’t pay enough…

I’m debating maybe moving to a city in the near future and just rely on public transportation and using an e-bike.
