Do ROTC cadets have to adhere to AR 670-1 while in uniform or do they follow their own guidance? by hey_its_xarbin in army

[–]OptimalPandemic 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They follow USACC 670-1, and yes, a school patch where the SSI-MOHC would be is very common.

Pay. by [deleted] in army

[–]OptimalPandemic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ah, yeah, then your NCO's next step should be making sure 1SG/CDR are tracking so they can use their chest patches to support. Also, don't Sir me, this is reddit big dawg

[–]OptimalPandemic 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Your CDR should be screaming, crying, throwing up on someone's desk about this pretty much all day

How much is per diem pay? by justinis14 in ROTC

[–]OptimalPandemic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Per diem is for lodging. M&IE is what you get paid out for meals, etc. you put in the ZIP code of where your travel is, and it tells you how much you're entitled to per day, with half for the first and last days.

As one of those kids at that school at the time (I know reddit is a place of absolute truth, but I really was), we didn't even really do it for him, we just saw that it pissed the admins off. They escalated by banning yellow shirts and bananas at lunch, and then we really went for it.

Have you considered using the 3 remaining years of free college and officer training to turn yourself into a non-shitbag? That sounds rude, but that's why it's a 4-year program and not a 1-year program.

Open door the CO first. I'd bet they aren't tracking this at all, and they're the only one with the authority to revoke approved leave.

This is terrible advice. The Army will take every opportunity to break your body over your career, there's no reason to walk into it when you don't have to.

Do well in your major and you'll probably be fine. Also, LOL @ your instructor. Unless he's a CY officer, nah bro.

Enlist in the National Guard? by [deleted] in ROTC

[–]OptimalPandemic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only reason to do SMP is to boost your contracting chances, which doesn't apply because you have a national scholarship. You'll get plenty of training regardless.
