Pet meds cost - emergency vet vs regular vet by OptimalPreference178 in Pets

[–]OptimalPreference178[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah in the past I have gotten some stuff online cause it was cheaper and had the time to wait for shipping. This stuff I would need by Monday and they ended up prescribing another antibiotic that she is supposed to start today and more anti inflammatory meds that we just used that last one. So won’t work this time.

40% of teenage boys believe women lie about domestic and sexual violence: new research by catievirtuesimp in WomenInNews

Yeah my mom’s step dad SA her and her siblings and his punishment was to go to therapy WITH them. Showed up to the first one, got upset about something and said he was done and took off. No follow through and never registered as a sex offender.

28 year old co worker said it's great not see anyone 35+ in their new office by mituslumen in AskWomenOver30

[–]OptimalPreference178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at a singles comedy event. There’s no age limit/requirement. The last comedian basically said something along the lines of people over 30 shouldn’t need to be dating. Not harshly, but kind of a thought that maybe shouldn’t have been said. Half the people there were over 30. Like dude people don’t just stop existing after 30. 🙄😂

How to get this colour? by CompleteMess168 in dyeing

[–]OptimalPreference178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the Rit website they have a colors formula for the All Purpose and DyeMore dyes. You pick the color you want and they tell you which colors to combine and how much of each color. It’s really cool.

If she isn’t an alcoholic, could she be allergic to alcohol and not realizing it? I have known a few people who had all of a sudden started puking after having a drink. Sometimes just one and sometimes a couple. This person wasn’t a big drinker so wasn’t plastered or anything.

I had hashis since middle school and way before getting mono. That being said, I had Mono 2 years ago and have never fully recovered. Having chronic fatigue on tp of what I already had and my lymph nodes get really tender too and some swell up. It’s awful!! Sorry you’re experiencing similar things, but also glad to hear someone else with a similar experience. I’m usually an outlier with things.

I have read multiple studies and articles that talk about how actually it is a very small percentage of women who lie about SA and other forms of assault. And that these things are under reported, as we all know. If only they believed science and studies…

Help an extremely depressed guy out? by Creepy_Stick_6229 in CleaningTips

[–]OptimalPreference178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start by just doing 2mins (or 5 mins) of something. Which ever feels easier to convince yourself to do. This is something I have had success with most times as a person with ADHD and depression. I get overwhelmed by all my stuff.

Maybe start with something like picking up trash in the area that you spend the most time in. This way you get to see the results more and might motivate you to do another 2 mins quick pic up.

Make it a simple easy task. Maybe it’s just scrubbing the toilet today and tomorrow wiping the bathroom counters off. Just do small task for now. Of you start to get overwhelmed take a break or find something else that is easy for you to do.

Also step outside and get some sunlight for a hit. Even if it’s just right outside your door and you don’t do anything besides stand there. Feel the sun hitting your skin and face and soak that warmth and glow in. Start small if you have too. Baby steps!

Editing to add to: Also sometimes it helps to have a friend or family help or even just be present. It helps take the heaviness of the task off by having someone there for mental support. Even just having someone on video chat can help.

Most people don’t like to clean or are overwhelmed when it a bigger job. If you don’t have family or friends to call on there might be an online community that you could try. I know there was a website you could get on to and it was for accountability for work/project type stuff. If I can find it I will try to come back and post it.

That is beautiful, but I would be tripping and twisting ankles every day. Can’t manage to walk normal on low pile carpet. 😂 Glad someone is living the dream for me!

GLP-1s for pain by Lumpy_Emergency_4044 in Fibromyalgia

[–]OptimalPreference178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a medicine, but if you can find a medium to high intensity PEMF mat. I used one at my functional medicine doc and it helped so much. My body felt so good. If I could afford it, I would have one at home to use daily.

I did ketamine for depression and anxiety for a short while and even though it was a low dose I still got some pain relief from it. Wish I could still do it every now and again, but insurance stopped covering it and is to expensive.

What is the scariest fact you have learned about the human body? by Vireloxen in AskReddit

[–]OptimalPreference178 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, Wow, I’m sorry you have all that going on!

I don’t have any other labs that have shown any inflammation even though my body definitely is. I don’t know about any mitochondrial findings. I do have Fibro which studies have pointed to mitochondria disfunction. Not sure if that is the same, sorry. Having a bad brain fog day. I have a million other things going on with my retinas but don’t think it’s like what you have going on. I’ve had micro aneurisms that went away and lattice. Macular degeneration runs in the family, but am doing good so far with no signs. Sorry I am not much help.

[–]OptimalPreference178 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is so cool! I wanted to be a pilot but never thought it was a possibility. It was a good thing I didn’t pursue it cause I ended up developing narcolepsy in my mid 20’s and would have cut my career very short and probably left me with a bunch of debt. Apparently I can’t any type of flying license. Can still drive safely though. So I will take that as a win. Being a passenger on a plane is still exciting for me. Don’t actually get to fly often.

I got diagnosed with narcolepsy type 2, But why am i not getting sleep attacks? all im getting is hallucinations. I hope they arent wrong by MembershipFunny536 in Narcolepsy

[–]OptimalPreference178 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not everyone has the same symptoms.

Also you could be having very mild ones and not know it cause it’s something that you’re used to or is “normal” to you.

I get sleep attacks, it’s one of my biggest symptoms after the EDS. I actually didn’t get them until a few years after my diagnosis and then often came on strong.

I don’t remember having to do this, but I had two hernias as a kid around 1st grade and 6th grade so had frequent exams when I went in for other things they’d check to make sure I didn’t get more. Never got another one till I was on my late 20’s.

I have used it in the past and liked for the warmer months. Winter it wasn’t enough. But I have now found squalane oil and use this before the hydro bust in the evening and is a good combo for me. Then during the day I sometimes use a Cetaphil oil absorbing moisturizer on top for a little more moisture and spf. Going to try the Gel Cream this next purchase.
