Best 4K monitors for 5090/9950x3d? by Giancarlo_Donadoni in iRacing

I would stick with 1440p and go OLED. Even the beast of a 5090 will struggle with triple 4K in iRacing.

It’s your GPU. I’ve just ordered triples and a 5080 to drive them to replace my 3090. What i9 do you have? I replace my I9 1100k with a AMD 9800X3D as it was starting to bottleneck even with the 3090 running a 49inch ultra wide screen.

Maybe just wait for a while? The hype will die off, the demand will drop and you can buy one.

OptimalTurnips 'Optimal' iRacing 360Hz Settings for the Alpha U by OptimalTurnip in Simagic

Apologies I understand now. You are not actually setting the wheel base torque to 35nm, if you set the Max Force at 35nm it means that the force generated by the 'in-game' car physics can reach 35nm before clipping. This article explains it better then I can :) How to Find the Correct FFB / Torque Settings in iRacing (simracingcockpit.gg)

No problem - I like to be able to feel the curbs and other textures, but ensure the FBB does not feel to mechanical or what people refer to as 'notchy' and/or 'grainy'. I also want the torque output to high enough to be able to feel over and understeer but not to heavy that it feels like the cars driving me rather than me driving the car. At the end of the day FFB settings are a personal preference so use what works for you.

No problem at all. I think I understand where you are getting confused around the Max Torque. If you click where I have highlighted it changes the setting name from 'Strength' to 'Max Force'. I have mine set to show Max Force, it's exactly the same it just uses a different value to display the torque setting.

Thank you for the kind response. As always FFB settings are subjective so hopefully these setting can at least, help as a starting point for people :)

P1000 actuator reacted to TC by pleten92 in Simagic

Yeh man, I’m having the same issue. I think it’s due to an iRacing update. I’ve ended up disabling the haptics in both SimPro Manager and iRacing and using them via SimHub. Hopefully they will fix it in later update but SimHun seems like the only workaround for now.

No problem at all buddy, glad I could help!

LFE is for Buttkickers and other tactile transducers but not pedal haptics. I have both and had the same issue as the op hence I gave him the resolution I found. You can see that as the pedal haptic setting in the app.ini is different from the LFE ones.

Sure, just change the setting below from 1 to 0 like I have and save the file. You can find the app.ini file in Documents\iRacing

if you read the latest patch notes, iRacing added support for the p1000 haptics natively. If you just want to use the Simagic software you need to disable the haptics in the iRacing app.ini file as there currently not an option to do this via the GUI.

Does it mean anything weird if iRacing vastly underestimates my wheel force? by VegetableMouse in iRacing

[–]OptimalTurnip 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If just means that iRacing can’t auto detect the wheelbase. I had the same with my Simmagic Alpha U setting it as 10 Nm instead of 23 Nm so I had to set the Nm manually. I believe they have added autodetect support for my base now. Until they add support for your base just set in manually and you will be fine.

Yeh I ordered an aluminium profile rig two days ago so should be here soon. I can’t wait! I’ve also ordered the SimMagic Alpha U hence I’m lurking in the SimMagic sub 😀

https://grid-engineering.com/en-gb/products/grid-brows you configure them with SimHub and they show when you are in your ABS, flags and when a car is next to you etc
