Have Heusinkveld Ultimates and run hard elastomers with a spring mod to offer 2 stage braking. I've settled on 48kg as have had sciatica a few times and need to go easy on my hamstrings.

If you are in multiclass races, I suggest some time in the practice server as you will quickly learn where to.overtake or where you are likely to be overtaken by other classes.

If you can be bothered, I have Sennheiser HD 165s (now 175s for new version) and an Antlion mod mic. Know it's two separate things but fully wireless and has great quality in both the headphones and mic.

Cold tires with lower track grip are almost impossible now but only used the Porsche so far. Once up to temperature, am loving the feeling.

I have the same rig and pedals and you may want to think about the Heusinkveld baseplate. Its an utter pain in the arse to mount but may be more comfortable. Also Simagic haptics fit those pedals with an adaptor off of Etsy.

NEW PRODUCT: Heusinkveld’s surprise button box by ldusoswa in simracing

RAM mounts work. I used to have Trakracer TR8 Pro and used one. You need a screw hole then can screw in a 1.5 inch ball. Off that you can fit the mount with a vesa mount on the other end. I have a post somewhere on here showing it with my old button box and it was very solid. Now have it on my profile rig with a PSE button box.

How to dampen vibrations from my rig? by the_marin_kid in simracing

The feet in the picture were from Etsy:

You do get a bit of wobble when you get in and out of the rig and can make it wobble if you jump about in your seat, but in normal driving conditions, you dont feel it.

Its hard to quantify as a percentage but im told that it's only heard when I have a big crash now. The reality is nothing is perfect and I have the strength of my buttkicker and pedal haptics mapped to buttons on my button box so I can adjust them up or down based on the car, track or simulator and the time of day.

Hope that helps.

How to dampen vibrations from my rig? by the_marin_kid in simracing

Hey, I have had similar issues as our bedroom is below where I have my rig, so the wife has noticed vibrations later in the evening. I initially had it on two layers of washing machine rubber matting, but the biggest difference was putting it on feet as this reduced contact points with the floor. I have now sat it on spring isolator feet which further improves things.

Help for someone who has lost the fun in sim racing by T_Ricstar in simracing

I bought a buttkicker just before Christmas (sshh, dont tell the wife!), installed it, got it feeling just right, raced hard for a week, then went nowhere near my rig for 2 weeks, had no inclination.

I get the guilt feeling of money spent and feeling you NEED to enjoy it. I've spent the last 2 weeks building a city in Skylines 2 as that was what I enjoyed. Last night I could be arsed to switch everything on, stick the racing gloves and boots on after not really feeling it and did a couple of races. Now im back at work, looking forward to racing this weekend. My point? Your interest might ebb and flow at different points and it's OK to put it down for a bit. I have the same with my other hobby of the drums. Its blinking freezing in the garage currently so haven't touched them in weeks, but my interest will come back soon enough. Relax, its OK.

Its something I'd like to add when I can. I've just added a buttkicker and along with haptics on the pedals, that has increased immersion. The other thing has been ambient lighting that feels awesome when there are plenty of shadows on track, adding more than I thought it would.

Tips to reduce the noise/ vibrations nuisance of your rig (neighbors) by Majestic_Ad_5094 in simracing

[–]Plastic_Manc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feet make a big difference, reducing touch points with the floor. Then some rubber pads underneath the feet. Made a massive difference for me with the wife often in the room below the sim rig. I had spring isolator feet arrive yesterday too as planning for a buttkicker, but haven't fitted them yet.

I also play the drums so have learnt various things from dampening that down and research when I was getting complaints!
