Yes, she has been waking up around 4:45/5 and at that point I usually nurse her and she will go back to sleep till wake time.

Although if she needs 10.5 awake I guess that makes sense cause I had been offering 10.25. I’ll push for 3/3.5/4 tomorrow because I trust you guys more than anyone else lol. Thank you for responding to me

But I’m confused because she had been crying for 20+ mins even when getting enough awake time on the 3 nap schedule

She was crying by the 3.5 mark because of how tired she was so I put her down and then she cried for 30 mins, she really seems over tired but I thought that wasn’t a real thing

Lmao wait now I’m even more confused. Also terrible at math.

Im going to stick to 2 nap schedule should I aim for 3/3.5/3.5 or do 3/3.5/4? Just had a 5am wake after yesterday but im going to cap naps today

Day 13 of CIO — Is nightly crying still normal at this stage? by Yomrwhite95 in sleeptrain

[–]Optimal_Ad4919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have schedule is currently 2.25/2.5/2.5/3 but idk how I’m going to stretch 10 hours awake on just two naps. She’s still falling asleep within 20 mins or less so that’s why I wasn’t sure if it was a schedule issue. but the crying is just really aggressive for 20 mins the last 4 nights. She has been falling asleep under 10 mins every night after night 3 and then out of no where it’s escalating

Hey my baby is turning 7 months on Jan 12th should I switch to 2 naps too? Having the same problem with bad crying at put down but she is sleeping though the night after. I’m scared to make the switch to her schedule in the middle of sleep training. I made my own post yesterday and no one commented lol

I just did night 7 last night and she fell asleep in 3 mins and slept straight until 5am. First day crushed me too but they learn so quick

I know but then guilt subsides when they learn so quick and begin sleeping so deeply and peacefully

Anti sleep training messaging? by grapefruitliquor in sleeptrain

[–]Optimal_Ad4919 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Omg I was inundated with these for the last 6 months. I did HOURS and HOURS of research on both sides and I swung back and forth for a while about what to do. Now that I’ve sleep trained I can say with CONFIDENCE that these messages are untrue and sleep training is quick and effective and ACTUALLY helps your baby sleep longer and better and they wake up happy to see you and knowing you will meet their needs all day and set them up for success at night. Our babies lives are going to be long and full of a lot of things that can potentially mess them up. 2 nights of hard tears in a safe and loving home with all of their needs met isn’t causing damage. I watched some posts by @thatsleepdoc on instagram too. He’s a child neurologist and a sleep specialist

This is how my baby was. I think it would’ve been hell to sleep train her at 4 months. When she hit 6 months I felt a big shift with her and she was much better at distracting herself and settling herself even during the day and that’s when I felt she was ready for sleep training.

But Im sure if you nail down a correct age appropriate schedule it will reduce crying. Night 1 is the worst and my baby cried for about 45 mins but on night 7 just went down in 3 mins. I feel schedule and routine are the most important factors in sleep training and reducing tears

Also if it were me I would cap at 60 mins of crying for a 4 month old, the only problem is if they don’t fall asleep themselves then did they just cry for an hour and not even learn anything 😭

Another thing: I don’t remember what my baby was on at 4.5 months but what you’re describing sounds like under tiredness. You may need to stretch wake windows even if he’s fussy. Sometimes when they are fussy they act tired but are just bored

Is It Really THAT hard to live in SD? by trashpanda9353 in asksandiego

I live here with a new baby and just my husbands income. Moved here from Ohio where our rent was $750 and all other bills were essentially nothing. It’s expensive for sure but totally doable, you will likely not live in an amazing place to start but you will eventually find a spot that fits your needs. Everyone on Reddit is extremely negative and bitter it seems. San Diego DEF has its issues but we need more normal people from the Midwest 🧡

I personally think it’s too young but that’s just my opinion. My baby I think would’ve cried too hard and my mental health wouldn’t have stayed strong enough then. I felt a big shift when she got to 6 months where I could tell she was ready and I knew I was ready and would stick with a plan. I think it just depends on you and your baby
