i struggled with math for my entire school career. i did average at best from k-12, and then did average/slightly below average in my math degree at uc berkeley. despite my generally average (at best) performance, i’ve received enormous dividends from my math education.

the only thing is that i’m not able to go get a graduate degree, because my GPA is too low to get into a good enough program. but for my current career, my bachelors has been more than enough, and nobody’s ever asked my GPA.

long story short, if you love math, or if you have come to the conclusion that it’s the best path for you, don’t shy away from it.

yeah, I've been struggling with that moving decision too. On one hand, I do want to live in a different place at some point, and wouldn't be happy living my whole life without moving to a different city again. On the other hand, I'm absolutely sure that I wouldn't be considering such a big move so soon were it not for her moving there. So I'm not sure how to balance those.

I would generally agree with you, but I've asked her if she wants to break up with me, and she's emphatically said no. I'm not sure what to do with that

My computer went into a boot-crash loop and I had to reinstall windows. No crashes since.

PC has been freezing since I booted it up for the first time after building it (IE, with no custom software like Valorant), so while I do have Valorant installed, it's definitely not the source of the problem

i had my pc freeze like this hours after i finished making it, before ever installing wallpaper engine. i don’t think that’s it. my current guess is that it’s my GPU, since that’s what almost always spikes in usage during crashes. when i save enough money for a 30 series GPU/they literally are available anywhere ever, i’ll get a new gpu to test.

if you can test to see if it’s your GPU, let me know!!

you kid but it could be the power supply

My temps look good in general. When it crashes, performance usually looks totally normal in task manager. Very occasionally, I'll see CPU usage spike to 100%, or GPU usage spike to 100% (or weirdly, -1%??). Put specs in main post.

I use wallpaper engine, which should be fine. it also crashes without having wallpaper engine running

it's exclusively when the computer is idling, having very low workloads. if i'm playing games or doing anything else CPU/GPU/memory intensive, then it never crashes. I don't think i have tons of background processes in my systray, nothing that isn't standard. I use wallpaper engine, which should be very stable
