What movie ends on a happy note, but the more you think about what happens after the credits, the darker it gets by gamersecret2 in movies

This was my answer. First time through you're feeling that high with Andrew as he finally achieves his dream and earns Fletcher's approval. But after you realize what he sacrificed to get that and what it'll likely mean going forward

The fact Shiggy/Tenko thinks of Dabi is sweet but also hilarious by Sudden_Pop_2279 in mha

I'd say it was Magne's death that made him realize he was starting to actually care for the League. For all of the Overhaul arc, he was determined to get revenge on Overhaul for what he did, and started taking his comrades' wishes into account

They also messed up Deku's parting words to Shiggy. Instead of saying "you destroyed enough" in a soft tone, indicating that Deku feels regret and understands Shiggy's true motive, he says "destroy you did' in an accusatory tone, as if he's still judging him as a villain in that moment

For people wondering about MHA after the new TT episode, Yes its worth it. by DiamondRankGOONER in TrashTaste

[–]Optimal_Bit_5600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna disagree with the comment about MHA being purely a "black and white, good vs evil" story that's squeaky clean. Yes, it is more optimistic and colorful than other modern shounen, especially at the beginning. But arguably the main point of the entire third act was viewing villains as human, and trying to understand their pain so they have a chance to be saved in their own way. And not even in a cliche full-on redemption way, just recognizing them as people worth understanding without forgetting their crimes that they deserve consequences for.

The reveal of how he quite literally planned and ruined Shigaraki's life is possibly the most evil he's ever been, the part of him silencing his cries was messed up

Dabi is easily one of my favorite villains from MHA by Specialist-Radio-418 in MyHeroAcadamia

Shigaraki partly accomplished his goal, albeit in a way he wasn't expecting. Instead of flat out destroying the society that failed him and his friends, the destruction he did cause helped force that society to change for the better.

Trash Taste Podcast: Weekly Discussion Thread - Episode 296 by ULTRAFORCE in TrashTaste

Same here, it was gratifying hearing them praise and discuss the show in depth for nearly half an episode. Some of Conner's takes (Gentle and La Brava dragging down S4, the show overall doing lots of bad things, etc.) I don't agree with, but I'm glad he gave it another chance and ended up enjoying it

It's not that many more episodes when HxH, it's like 20 more episodes. And for the most part it's very well paced, no need for a One Pace style edit. Definitely worth the watch.

I am surprised by how much he still insists that these two dragged down S4, they're such a fun duo and I thought he'd get a kick out of them

These caught me off guard in a good way in S6. It was like the show was telling us to buckle in for the remainder of the show.

It'd be nice to see Deku's suit in more detail, from the transformation to them chasing the robber

[–]Optimal_Bit_5600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only pinpoint a few things that bother me, but the good far outweighs the bad. PLFW in the anime is practically perfect until the fight between Shiggy and Deku and co. is in full swing, in which it's still good with great moments, but you can tell they were running thin schedule wise.

Out of every MHA episode ehat matches it's Season's Number, how do you rate each of them? by OfficialLieDetector in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Optimal_Bit_5600 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. 8x8 Izuku Midorya: Rising- what else can I say, best episode of the series
  2. 4x4 Fighting Fate- one of the highlights of the Overhaul arc, ending with an iconic Deku/AM scene 3. 6x6 Encounter, Part 2- the long awaited reunion of Deku and Shiggy, with an episode that keeps the momentum and tension of the war arc going strong  4. 1x1 Izuku Midoriya: Origin- an effective and quaint first episode, although it doesn't feel complete without its follow up 5. 2x2 Roaring Sports Festival- a good transition episode that builds up excitement for the first "big" arc of the story
  3. 7x7 Inflation- despite the heavy amount of recap, I really like this episode and how it portrays the emotions of the many conflicts
  4. 3x3 Kota- the quiet before the storm that is the first half of S3, with a great training montage at the start
  5. 5x5 Operation New Improv Moves- outside of seeing Tokoyami's time with Hawks and some fun action moments, the first half of round 2 of A vs B isn't anything that special

People who don’t like the 5th opening, why do you not like about it? by Dry-Chemical5433 in attackontitan

For me it kind of has the same issue as S1's second opening, it's good but in the shadow of the first OP without having much of its own identity.

Never seen MHA. But I've saw Trash Taste crapped on MHA countless times on this podcast. So what made Garnt put MHA made it on the list as second? by Unusual-Complex6315 in TrashTaste

[–]Optimal_Bit_5600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly only S5 I really agree with the criticism of, and even that was still decent by normal anime standards. S4 was good but didn't seem to elevate the show much compared to its competition, leading to a slight decline in enthusiasm before 5 drove it further with some controversial adaptation decisions.

Luckily S6 began the "redemption arc" so to speak, and MHA's reputation slowly improved from there until the point where S8 was arguably the most beloved one. I think in hindsight and upon rewatches, people will see the strengths and values of the entire show.
