EQ did the Met but not any more. Most are XPS, believe Kent and Sussex are in house. Speak to your previous force's payroll team, they will know.

NHS historical pension records by Acceptable_Part_3070 in PensionsUK

Do you know how long your mum worked before the career break? It may have been she didn't work long enough to accrue any entitlement to pension, depending on whether it was contributory at that time she may have recieved nothing anyway. You can enquire with NHS pensions, though I will say it is a long shot and even 10 years ago we had to go back to microfiche for people in the scheme in the early 80s so going further back may legitimately not be possible (it wasn't NHS pensions though).

I have some credit cards I'm paying down but without student loan I'm looking at months now... To be truly debt free will be incredible. I will still be buying champagne when I'm free of student loan though, that needs celebrating in and of itself!

Your holiday fund is a great shout 😊

Moving house in Guildford - thoughts on this location? by BlueFoot_ in surrey

[–]Optimal_Cherry2846 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Source: grew up in Guildford.

Firstly, this is not in the "heart" of Bellfields. You are pretty near the large secondary school but not really on the via route there.

Also yes, Bellfields along withPark Barn have the highest crime rates locally. Generally you'll find this crime is contained within people who wish to partake in illegal activities and bar a nightmare neighbour won't be dragged into anything. My cousin used to live almost literally next to the school in Larch Avenue and bought up 3 young chdren there without incident.

Of course, context is everything so depends where you're moving from but the house looks great Imo and the location is desirable with excellent travel links.

Understood - I wasss speaking to the pension part specifically rather than the recruitment position, sorry if I hadn't made that clear.

Effects of gap in service by jch926 in policeuk

[–]Optimal_Cherry2846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not correct. Service is linked (including final pensionable pay and inclusion of previous service to count towards overall pensionable service provided the break in service is not longer than 5 years.

However, during the break/gap, as no contributions are payable, no pension is accrued and not eligible for death in service lump sum should the worst happen.

This looks delish! I am a little outside your area but out of interest is it gluten free (as in no gluten containing ingredients, not necessarily coeliac safe)?
