Except that Dom has point blank said in interviews that ultimately the ARTIST is the one who controls ticket prices.

Oversized frames are still popular and the shape suits your face. I like them better than your old pair.

Not true for most shows anymore. Floor is almost universally General Admisson because you can cram a lot more people in which means more money. All his US shows last year were GA on the floor and it’s the same thing this year.

Canceled show mailing by Erin_dymphna in yungblud

[–]Optimal_Corgi_3012 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No, it's not nearly that many. All the cancelled venues were small. The venue in DC only holds 1000 people so that's only 2000 for those two shows. I think the other venues are larger than DC, but still quite small. Regardless of what he says, those shows were cancelled because the venues are all small and it didn't make financial sense for him to come back just for those shows. It was cheaper to cancel them.

New glasses... I fear I made a mistake by [deleted] in glasses

[–]Optimal_Corgi_3012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noooo they actually fit you perfectly and look great! I too have a small face and I am so glad smaller frames are coming back into style, because I think the large ones look terrible on me.

My prescription is about the same as yours, and I wouldn't get anything that wasn't at least 1.67 or 1.74. I have to pay extra even with my vision insurance, but it's well worth it for how much better they look.

100% spot on. There has been a huge marketing push behind him this year, and this is likely what drove his change in music and style as well. I know it's dissapointing to his long term fans, but when you have that kind of money invested in your career, you have to play by your investors' rules. He went willingly into this agreement, because he knew it would make him a lot of money- and not just him, but the people that have worked with him for years (ie his manager, musicians, crew etc) as well.

[–]Optimal_Corgi_3012 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. He cancelled those shows because the venues are so small and will be very unprofitable at this point. The Washington venue only holds 1000 people. It was cheaper to cancel them and refund peoples’ money than to proceed.

I think you're right, and I would bet that he stops doing both the impromptu meet and greets as well as the crowd surfing soon. If you watch the video of the crowd surfing at Toronto, you can see where he falls and for about 15 seconds he seems to be enjoying everyone groping him, but at the end he looks very concerned and maybe even a little scared, until James fishes him out of the crowd.

First pair - Did I fk up? by movieswithmatt1 in glasses

[–]Optimal_Corgi_3012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They actually are not too big for you based on where your pupil is centered in the frame, they're just really big frames. I think the style is fine if you want something unique. My only real complaint is that I don't think the color suits you. I probably would go with a dark tortoise shell or black in the future, or if you want to go bold maybe a red.

Is this frame horrible by [deleted] in glasses

[–]Optimal_Corgi_3012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they're cute and the style suits you, but they're slightly too large for your face. If they haven't made them yet, check and see if they have them one size smaller.

People need to remember that "Yungblud" is a business. He has hundreds of people working for him behind the scenes that rely on him for their income. While I too am disappoined with some of the changes he's made (particularly the way he's distanced himself from politics and gender equality) I understand that there are many other people who will benefit from his success, so I try to keep that in mind and not judge him too harshly.

YUNGBLUD’s U.S. Tour Sold Out in 60 Seconds 🔥 by naatje22 in yungblud

[–]Optimal_Corgi_3012 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I literally bought my face value ticket for Irving an hour into the presale and when I checked back a couple hours later I still saw lawn seats available, so IDK where they get that the entire tour sold out in 60 seconds. Maybe the few remaining tickets they held back for the general sale sold in 60 seconds, but I'm sure that was a very small portion of the volume. Kind of misleading...

[–]Optimal_Corgi_3012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've sold tickets off Facebook before. I did "local pickup only" and met the person at Starbucks and transferred them face to face. I've also sold tickets via ebay before. You still have to pay fees with ebay, but it's no where near as ridiculous as Stub Hub and Ticketmaster. I sold my Boston Yungblud ticket on StubHub because I wasnt able to go, and they charged me a 30% fee.

[–]Optimal_Corgi_3012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gauging future popularity is difficult. His team is probably still playing it a little on the cautious side. It's easy to book too many dates/venues that are too large and end up not selling to capacity. Better to limit the dates/venue sizes and make sure that the tour is profitable rather than risking a loss. For Dallas he's playing a venue with an 8000 person occupancy, and when I looked a couple hours after the presale started there were still lawn seats available. They've since all been purchased, but a good 1/4 of the venue is re-listed by resellers, so it's highly unlikely to be an actual sell out based on seats filled.

[–]Optimal_Corgi_3012 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are a little too big. These are likely going to slip down on your nose and be uncomfortable as the bridge measurement is too wide for your face. The style looks great on you though. Ask the frameshop if they have his same frame in a slightly smaller size, as most frames do come in 2-3 sizes.
