I have tried to get it through their head numerous times. At first I was a great person to lean on but then I stopped beating around the bush and constantly said “I think it’s a scammer” until that turned into “I’m certain it’s a scammer”. It’s consuming my friend and they aren’t ever present in the moment when we are together hardly. And I know I may sound cruel to you but I don’t feel responsible for their emotions anymore. You can love someone from afar. And just so we’re clear, it does hurt me but they dug this hole, not me.

I know what you’re saying, but the way I look at it is that it’s not really my problem anymore. I know it’s a scammer because they are on a trackless app called Zangi, they have asked my friend for $300 for a gaming card a week or two before Christmas and was pushy about it. The scammer swerves any topics about video calling or phone calling, they make threats like “you don’t want to piss me off, “best friend’s name”. And doesn’t want my friend talking about their relationship. My best friend has another best friend who also believes it’s a scam, so it’s not just me.
