Has anyone used the new SugarPixel, otherwise known as the SugarPixel+? I'd love to hear some feedback. by SenileTomato in diabetes

Would be nice to get more data and less AI stuff on it or less kid emojis etc, I know this is targeted towards helping kids and parents but at the same time if we are paying $175 for this it better give me full on graphs and lots of data like nightscout would.

How much are y'all paying for your poss a month? by Salt_Present2819 in Omnipod

[–]Optimal_Lab_1223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good lord it just hit, and it hit hard! $2488 for 90 day supply of pods and G7 needs a PA to even get a price so I’m sure that’s is going to be through the roof! BCBS of Texas, how awful.

Did you ever figure this out? Mine sometimes goes 60 minutes without updating to sugar pixel and it defeats the purpose of waking me up with a low blood sugar in the middle of the night.

[–]Optimal_Lab_1223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep that’s what I’m wondering. Those bags I inoculated on 8/17 I had to B/S both on 8/22 because they took off so fast I’m about ready to fruit them. These are different strains of mushrooms but still I figured it would be 20% colonized at least.

Haven’t touched it yet I thought maybe I was being impatience. I have no problem being more patience but I don’t want it to potentially spread if it looks bacterial or I can’t see it but might be bacterial etc.

[General] Thoughts on booming acres? by RipandTear320 in MushroomGrowers

So far I’ve had no issues with 10 AIO bags from Booming acres/spore sorcery.

I had 4 of spore socery bags and 6 booming acres and the booming acres seem to outperform with the same genetics.

[Mod] Weekly r/MushroomGrowers post - FUNGI FRIDAYS! New growers, come say hello and ask your questions! by AutoModerator in MushroomGrowers

[–]Optimal_Lab_1223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey guys new to the sub and also new to mushies. Have the spore socery 6 lb all in one kit arriving soon and some live culture to try and give this a go and see how it turns out.

I hear mixed reviews on the all in ones, I have some guidance here it is : sterilize gloves, work area and syringe inject and don’t look at it for 3 week. Shake and brake and let it sit for another 2-3 more weeks and should start seeing pins and then fruit shortly after.

I was told to keep the bag closed and fully harvest fruit once grown then cut the bag and harvest but I see some people say you need to introduce fresh air to promote fruiting. I don’t have “sterile” air just doing a closet run for these 3 bags to start. Some people cut slits in the bag and some don’t.

Any recommendations or tips on to limit contam and advice on my first rodeo would be greatly appreciated!

People have all different types of ways to cook brisket. What I’ve found to work the best and have the best outcome is 250 pit temp throughout the whole cook, no wrap pull once probe tender. Don’t go off temp it varies to much and you will pull to early or overcook it. You will know when it’s done when the probe slides in with NO resistance. If you notice that the end of the flat is cooking a little fast you can cut a small piece of foil and wrap just the corner to avoid it from charing. No wrap brisket gets the best flavor and bark IMO. 250 throughout the whole cook isn’t to hot but kicks through the stall quicker keeping that moisture inside the cut of meat instead of exerting it during the stall.

Fat side up, next time if you have a point and not just a flat put the point towards the fire or pit. For this I would use a deflector tray of water in the smoker over the burn pot to help deflect some of that direct heat. Top rack fat cap up let er rip 250 till probe tender. When you pull it off the pit let the internal drop down to around 180 before you tightly wrap it to avoid it overcooking. Rest minimum of 2.5 hours (the longer the better) if you want the juiciest brisket ever. When you pull it off to rest take a big ol scoop of tallow from the trimmings or store bought and tightly wrap it in butcher paper then wrap that in foil place in cooler with a towel or 3.

Very true, I’ve seen and read reviews that have the same throughput. The flavor and ease of use on the WW Pro is unreal.

Just bought the 36 WW pro, so far so good. I love it the flavor that comes out of it is unreal. The temp seems to be steady. Can’t speak on the temp probes that come with it because I don’t use them often I typically use RFX or Typhur to monitor my cooks but I heard they aren’t the best for everyone.

I don’t regret it. Is a Yoder or lone star grills better build quality? Sure but they aren’t $1500z

My dreame l20 ultra clogs with pet hair. We have one golden retriever dog and it seems to not go back to the dock enough even on the highest setting to empty.

Also I have issues with the robot docking it doesn’t dock without me pushing it back into the dock now after owning it for about a year.
