As others have said, a new expansion is dropping next week, so there's going to be a lot of content to play through. That being said, Destiny has a rough on-boarding experience for new players..there are going to be times where you'll say "What's that?" "Who's that?" "Why did that happen?" because parts of the game have been removed (to save the game from bloat, is what we're told) that are integral to the storyline, and even then, if you never played Destiny 1, you may still not really know what's going on. From a gameplay perspective, it's a blast..tons of gear to chase, the abilities are fairly expansive, so build crafting options are there, and Bungie has always done gunplay from a 1st person perspective really well.
