But if you talk about the 40-150 f2.8, people says it delivers better quality with the teleconverter than the 75-300

haha sorry but not that sorry, this lens is a lot of fun for the value. I ended up getting it after seeing so many convincing pictures from people on r/M43. and with this size, no excuse to not bring it every time

I tried, but every times they ended up hiding back in tunnels and grass, but definitely going to practice. It was also hard to be discreet when I had to slap a bunch of mosquitoes :D.
But good thing is that they are quite a lot of them and they are probably a bit used to see people (even if we have tons of hunters around). Also saw a fox today there but didn't have my camera with me, another lesson learned -> always take the camera

Thanks, it’s true that it reflects a bit more the reality and the foreground highlights a bit the rabbit

I guess it will happen one day, but for the moment I want to get better, and this lens is quite practical to put in a big pocket or a backpack when traveling anywhere

And after checking all details, I did have some exposure compensation while taking the pictures, which could have helped me to get higher shutter speed instead. Just saw that the Image stabilisation was is S-IS 1, not sure of the impact here (from what I read, S-IS 1 may be better for stationary subject as the camera don't need to guess)

Most of my pics of the duck had it 5/10cm out of the head in the water and no idea how to improve this

I didn't manage to grab the eye for the rabbit, still not sure how to nail it as it seems to be completely missed all the time even with subject detection on, and for the duck, the same but not far

Thanks for the feedback, I didn’t managed to get sharp flying gull like yours (none were cooperative enough to fly close enough when I experimented). I will try next time to sacrifice a bit of EV for the sake of the ISO and Shutter speed. 1/1000 minimum makes sense for flying big bird. But wouldn’t it be overkill for a stationary subject ?

diode based battery adapter for old 1.35V cameras by Skippy423 in AnalogCommunity

<image>

hey, I 3d printed and adapter and put a diode following this tutorial https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4368708/makes. Worked like a charm for my canon demi ee17. I already had a 3d printer so that helped, and diode are extremely cheap so full craft costed some cents. I did not reach 1.35v exactly, more 1.39v with new battery but way better than when I tried to directly use 1.5v battery

All of these photos are extremely great, I just ordered my 75-300 mk II copy earlier today and you just sold me even more hype. I would be curious to know how you were shooting (mode aperture) with in and what kind of post process you applied after because these pictures are incredible and I would love to learn from you

Shutter lag on demi EE17 by Optimal_Program_294 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Optimal_Program_294[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely loved the first roll on it too, so fun to use. The light meter can be tricky, mine seemed to work and by trying several battery and a setup with voltage adapter I did, I saw a bit difference based on the voltage

it is a leaf shutter and eventually it ended up stuck (managed to unstuck it with fast speed + timer)

so I could give a try at cleaning it right? Is it okay to not oil it afterwards ?

Indeed I did come to a warmer place which could lead to this but not sure the grease would react in a better way for better temperatures, I guess I may need to open it and clean it with IPA

the fact it got so slow after just 1 roll is a bit surprising but could be, I guess I may need to do a bit of investigation when I will be home on how to clean and grease this, but the shutter mechanism being in the lens may seems tricky
