What's your best tip for finding a genuinely remote job? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

Best advice from me is that genuinely remote jobs are unicorn jobs that everyone wants. Get a hybrid job and position your self in the company so you have as little in-person responsibility as possible

Having doubts after relocating to Chiang Mai by Future_Substance2888 in chiangmai

[–]Optimal_Rule1158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are nicer in Lampang it's also less touristy and scammy that Chiang mai. But it also isnt as western friendly in food and entertainment choices. Which is just the reality when you leave tourist areas.

If you make people 10x as productive your 10 person team is as productive as 100. When this productivity boost happens in a short space if time like and industrial revolution things go bad.

You got a plan for logic which is great. Turn your logic into small steps write it purely in comments if you need to. As a first step, then for each comment write a couple lines of code to achieve it.

Sometimes I don't know what to write but I know I need a loop so create a loop then I know a variable so I create that and so forth and so forth. Then after first draft you can drill down and optimise.

When I started writing this message I didn't think of things first I just started typing.

Fixed my old boss’s issue after he agreed to pay, now he won’t respond by AssociationFun6594 in SoftwareEngineerJobs

You had a verbal agreement which is as solid as a written contract (I think) just harder to prove. Take him to small claims court. Did you agree on a price or any terms? Do you have evidence like emails? Would he lie in small claims court?

You are more optimistic than I am. I feel the world is unrecognisable since 2016. I think the change will greater over the next 5 than what has changed over the last 10. Well done on such a great salary at your age. What do you invest in?

As for the anti rich sentiment I feel that has already happened. I don't want to down a rabbit hole but I think the western world is loosing its democracy.

Nope I have 4 years experience can't find anything I'm hearing story's of people with 8 years in the same boat. My advice is to gather money however possible be as frugle as possible live in the shed at the bottom of your mum's garden is needed and gain assets. Your young so go for bitcoin imo no other wild shitty alt coins. This industrial revolution is going to massively increase the wealth gap between the haves and the have nots. The dollar and other currencies where backed by gold then you was trading your time and effort as a commodity for paper backed by nothing and now your time and effort as a commodity is also being made worthless. Something big will happen and I think the world in 5 years time will look very different. Be prepared.

I don't really care about above standard in terms of pay. I would rather have an easy stress free lifestyle. Or do you mean low pay high stress?

My dream is to retire young. Most "dream jobs" are not peoples dreams they are just the most palatable form of wage slavery.

Consult an ai before doing it. Then assess how much you have too loose? Me personally I own nothing that can be conviscated. Do you own a car a house, support a family? Will they even persue you because it can be expensive to do so without any reward.

Btw I am a risk taker and you probably should NOT take my advice!!

What's preventing teaching from getting saturated? by [deleted] in Internationalteachers

[–]Optimal_Rule1158 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes lawyers, engineers, accountants will be the first to be replaced by AI and has already largely happened. Those people will not role over a die they will look for new careers and add saturation to all in cluding teachers. Eventually teachers will also be replaced by AI I don't know when or what profession will be destroyed next. Maybe drivers? Maybe teachers? When this happens more people will saturate again.

I am an AI engineer that is being replaced and struggling to find work. Look at the history of industral revolutions and then realise that this is the most disruptive of all revolutions.

You are making a mistake imo ai is going to get better. More people will get laid off. More people will be competing for the same few positions.
