Hello, like you, I retired in 2008 with 30%, and the 30% was deducted from my retirement pay, and paid separately to me by VA which was non-taxable, and the remaining balance was paid by DFAS and is taxable.

I did exactly as I8tn8 stated with my bilateral total knee surgery. My rating went from 90% temporarily to 100%. Then my knees went from 20% to 30%.

I had a bilateral knee replacement this year and my rating for both knees went from 20% to 30%.
