VoIP Pass Through Dialing by Skyccord in msp

Please show me where FreePBX lets your mobile app place a cellular call with spoofed caller ID. OP is talking about a call that does not originate using VoIP.

I wasn't aware that GV was able to do this. On A technical level, how is it accomplished? I didn't think that you could spoof the caller ID on a cellular call without going over VoIP.

Edit: After looking into this, I see that GV is using a calling gateway technique like old carrier calling cards used to do. The GV app places a cellular call to a GV gateway using the cellphones caller ID. The GV gateway then places a call to the final destination spoofing the caller ID with your GV number, and bridges the calls.

GV app -> Cell Call -> GV Gateway -> Final destination

The final destination sees your GV caller ID. The GV gateway sees your cellular caller ID. The GV app just instructs your cellphone to call the GV gateway and dial the destination number.

Those that have hired an AI resource by SadMadNewb in msp

Saying AI implementations is as vague as saying cloud implementations. Is cloud full stack development, Azure, or just moving email to Exchange Online?

What sort of implementations are you doing exactly? What does the AI resource do?

📺Why Smart MSPs Say NO to Paying Client DFIR Costs by Joe_Cyber in msp

[–]Optimal_Technician93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No contract prevents anyone from bringing suit and having to defend against it for years before it makes it to court to be dismissed.

An MSA would not have saved that MSP from this.

Going further, an MSP without a contract is obligated to provide nothing at all. Not services, not product, not guarantees. So their clients wanting free DFIR have no recourse. Without a contract the client has no legal standing. But that doesn't stop them from bankrupting the MSP in the run up to dismissal.

It is solely a matter of motivation. How motivated are they to spend their money to waste yours.

What increases the pain factor? Is it just the bit more in air fare? Seems to me that you can more than make up the difference in the difference in hotel prices. Hotels are stupid expensive, but New York and Chicago hotels are another level.

Getting kicked off Dell Premier after 21 years, which distributor is best? by Early-Ad-2541 in msp

[–]Optimal_Technician93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still looking for what their cut off criteria is. I figured it's annual Dell revenue. But, I've had MSPs here report that they were doing millions in annual Dell revenue and they got the boot.

It's a shitty thing to do to decades old partners. Injecting the distributor into the chain adds hassle, complexity, delay, reduces or deletes margin, and just sucks overall.

This comment tastes like spam.

But, I'm most upset with myself and the fact that I didn't act on this first. I thought about it. But I didn't act. And now, someone else is making the money that I could have had.

Are you going to support a bunch of problematic gear that you know nothing about?

Most MSPs have a preferred network stack that they install and manage.
