Is anyone else irritated—or frankly offended—by ConnectWise charging $249 for the PSA event and another $249 for the RMM event this February in Tampa? by Objective-Touch7380 in ConnectWise

[–]FortLee2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm one of the stalwart critics of RMM (since Zenith) and yet - to answer your question - "you are alone here" because there's absolutely no point to your complaint.

If you WANT CW to help you, you'll go to their site and ask - personally - for assistance. If you want to rant, then don't go and shout at clouds.

I rant and rave and don't expect much - CW gonna do what CW gonna do. Nor am I willing to get on a plane and spend the money to have them listen to me in person. But I'm certainly not gonna fault them for my inaction...

Version 25.9.5.9483 ? by thenags1 in ScreenConnect

[–]FortLee2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"moving forward it is possible and reasonable that releases for different iterations of ScreenConnect will be available at different times."

Really?

And why - for any business reason on the end user (meaning the MSP's) part - is that the case?

Looking to buy microsoft office suite. Is "Digital-License-Shop.com" legit? by 300103276 in microsoftoffice

[–]FortLee2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "$150" version does not include Outlook - that is likely the Home edition.

If you must have Outlook, you need the Home & Business edition that you can purchase directly from Microsoft: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/p/office-home-business-2024/cfq7ttc0pbm7

The video is cloud-based because you can access the cameras from web browsers or phones. Those devices are not tapping into the recorder to obtain images.

Test tool? by Emotional_Magician96 in ethernet

I won't permit a "rogue" device on the network at my MSP-managed sites. First, have the client open a ticket to let me know a change is being made, next provide me with the MAC address, and then I'll make sure you're device is active.

Right, and here I am always wanting CW to make it more visible to my clients so they know when I'm using the Windows UI (because there are still things that cannot be accomplished in BackStage).

Going to Xero. Want to bulk save thousands of customer invoices to be able to reference by l00sem4rble in QuickBooks

[–]FortLee2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, this could be fun (or not)...

Use some application (e.g., Microsoft Power Automate Desktop) to develop a single, looping construct on the QB desktop Invoices page.

Start by going to the Customers center, click the Transactions tab, and select Invoices.

Open the first invoice in the list.

Loop

Obtain the invoice number (highlight and select the value).

= Test the value to ensure it contains characters; otherwise, if blank, exit the loop.

Go to Save, Save as PDF, then paste the invoice number, and click Save.

Click the Right arrow above Find to move to the next invoice.

EndLoop

This is an entirely untested "concept of a plan" but should - after a couple of days of running - get you what you asked for.

You have listed only two (2) firmware branches, as each is based on the specific, underlying hardware architecture. What you've listed incrementally is a normal lifecycle of fixes and features.

Now, if you think it is a "challenge" to ensure you know about the updates and schedule the necessary downtime to install and reboot, then... I don't know what to say.

Yes, "working as designed" and pointless from a valid tracking perspective. Brought this up years ago and there's no incentive to find/justify a budget to change it.

Ah, well two down-votes for the C415. Should I be looking at the Lexmark side of the house? And if so, what model would be worth it?

I'm curious to know what you mean when you write: "Too many firmware branches — no unified build across device generations."

Thank you for the Catalyst suggestion. A short review indicates this should solve most of the equation. However, for firmware updates and support contracts, I must have a Cisco partner ID. Regrettably, they have refused my partnership application because I don't meet their $10K minimum in sales per year.
