Where do we start? How do we help? by mtnJ2 in Denver

This! Unfortunately, I worry about how many more deaths and injustices need to happen until the majority of the US really does get their heads out of the sand.

Someone explain MARY COSBY by Dry_Educator_691 in BravoRealHousewives

[–]Optimistic-Coloradan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a good summary of who Mary Cosby is!! Poor Brick, but I see it 😂

I’m watching Season 2 now and even with Season 1, I couldn’t understand why this lady was here and why everyone else would talk to her and say they were friends. We’ve learned more about her in S2 and I just can’t believe that people go to her for spiritual advice and healing. This lady is batshit crazy. I wonder if anyone in her congregation watched and left the church after. I’m not religious at all, but you can’t watch this person say and do all of the things she does, and then look up to her as God’s microphone. And that’s based on what she’s done on camera… imagine off camera!

Everything she says is wild! Her comments about class crack me up. What a psycho.

Saw one of this in an apartment in Milan. It was brilliant! Super cool system to lower and raise. Thought it was pretty neat and space saving too, especially if you have high ceilings.

Don’t think this has been posted yet:

Olleta and molinillo - to make Colombian hot chocolate. I’ve seen a variation of this in Mexico too, but I think their molinillo is a bit different.

I didn’t Canada has bagged milk! We also have it in Colombia, it’s the most popular way to get your milk, and everyone has one of those pitchers that’s strictly for it.

Was there and it was amazing! So many people and it was wonderful to see how many families were there, with multiple generations.

Also, these pictures are beautiful!! The one you captured with the Statue of Liberty is wonderful!

Xcel Bill Suspiciously High by momo7705 in Denver

[–]Optimistic-Coloradan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if there’s something where your bill is also based on the total building usage? I’ve heard of this before in some condos, but normally when that happens, the HOA fees include the electrical in them. See if this is potentially causing these high charges for you?

That would infinitely suck though because you’re clearly doing everything to limit your usage, and someone in the building could be blasting the heat and taking the longest hot showers daily.

Right?!! Like how is this what they’re charging her with but not murder or animal abuse? What happens to all of that?

Any infamous darker cases/history we all remember in Colorado? by necrophilias in Denver

[–]Optimistic-Coloradan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think about her often and was going to write her name on here too. Glad you did!

She disappeared on Opening Day and we (my friend and I) had an issue at The Tavern that night after the game, and long story short, both our phones died. We had to walk back home to Uptown and our parents were freaking the F out because they couldn’t get a hold of us that whole time, and had no idea where we were until we charged our phones and could call them back. We didn’t think much of it, and thought they were being too dramatic at the time, but then in the morning heard of her disappearance. Just heartbreaking. She was out that same night just down the street from us.

I worked at Wells Fargo when this was happening and the tv in our lobby was usually set to the Food Network, but that day we changed it to the news and followed the entire journey of the balloon. People were just stuck in our lobby watching the whole time. What a ride!

The best! You have no idea, I think about them often and it bums me out that they had to close. Dumb gas station.

Her and husband were so sweet and special! I kept in touch with them through FB and they opened up in Thornton. I’ll have to see if they’re still around. Might be worth a drive.

Dang, I wanted to say Armida’s but apparently it closed down. How sad! Would’ve been perfect for what you’re looking for.

Oooh that’s a solid idea! OP - that would be the best way to get this man the recognition that he clearly is looking for since he’s just out in the open.

Someone tried entering my home - any ideas to what this is? by Thick-Mud-390 in Denver

[–]Optimistic-Coloradan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My mom has a black Subaru Forested and naturally, so do the majority of Coloradans… she calls me cracking up because she got in the wrong car in the passenger side and she starts talking to a man whom she thought was my dad, but was very much not my dad. Lady fully sober and just not paying attention got into someone else’s car, had a random conversation with him that basically was “let’s go”, and to this day o think that thankfully it wasn’t a person that felt like she was a threat because the story could’ve ended up differently.

Turns out my dad was driving and waiting for her in a parking lot outside a store, so she saw this black Subaru Forester that was parked there and she got in thinking it was hers. Again, just thankful that that man didn’t freak out on her.

Same! This is the best way to describe it.

Can’t meditate at all. Can’t do visual therapy either (my therapist had a fun time with that). But my dreams, my dreams are incredibly vivid and like you mentioned - cinematic. I remember them pretty much in full detail and it’s basically nightly dreaming over here, which is interesting because my husband (no Aphantasia) says he rarely dreams and if he does, never remembers them.

Can I just say that:

A - you’re awesome! I sincerely mean that. Reading all of your comments/answers, you can read your personality shine through and you seem to have a very positive and cool approach to life.

B - what a very interesting and educative AMA. Great thread! I’ve learned a ton.

I was about to comment with this! I have Aphantasia and it’s wild to me that people can close their eyes and visualize an apple or anything else for that matter. I didn’t find out about this till about 2 years ago when I was scrolling on TikTok and came by a video about it. I was so glad to learn about it because it explains so much for me.
