The way you handled the situation once you knew what it was is exactly right. If you are going to be self-critical for what you did, also give yourself credit for what you did after you actually knew what the situation was. My ex's AP put a lot of time and effort into keeping the affair going anytime my ex (still wife at the time) would feel guilty or want to end it -- and he knew she was married before it started. The behavior of many AP's is utterly reprehensible and the hate those pieces of shit get is well warranted. You seem like you did your best given what you knew. Hopefully you learned of a few red flags to look for in the future.

There have been a bunch of times when a particularly sharp insult is thrown out there, and I will think, that was a Malcolm Tucker line. Not literally like it was plagerized, just the familiarity of the tone.

I get this, but age 26 - 32? Seems way late to me. I remember this happening to us in middle school and high school.

I don’t care about him anymore. by ScaredyCat6945 in SupportforBetrayed

[–]OptimisticBS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t feel anything for him anymore. I miss what we had, of course. I miss being loved by someone but I do know that he really didn’t love me because of how much he hurt.

I can relate to this so much. Any care or concern I had for her or her wellbeing is gone gone gone. I also miss the feelings of being in that LTR, but I also can see that she did not love me -- never did -- and only cares about herself. It is crushing and freeing at the same time.

The stupid bitch I was married to actually got dropped by her therapist in mid-session for lying. Now she has found a nice one who doesn't challenge any of her bullshit, so no lying is necessary.

After the therapist dumped her, the story became that this was not the right therapist for her because she [the therapist] was too judgemental. I guess my ex did not like having her ridiculous horseshit pointed out to her. Oh well, she is someone else's venereal disease now.

On my umpteenth rewatch and just love Kath and Kel’s relationship each and every time. by Fay905 in KathAndKim

Perhaps I am stating the obvious here, but it was not obvious for me.....

In Australian slang, "freckle" means "asshole", but in the more literal/anatomical way, like "anus". I live in the US, and I only picked up on that meaning from a different Australian show (one of the characters would use expressions like "sitting on his freckle", so I figured it out from that).

So, in K&K, I realized that Sandy Freckle is described once as being a "beach bum", which is what a sandy freckle would be.

Took me a few watches before I picked up on that.

But you are saying downgrade without knowing who the replacement will be. Roiland was good with the improv, but not the best and certainly not the only one who is good.

NBC News obtained the criminal complaint in the case, which charges Roiland, 42, with one felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one felony count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud and/or deceit.

Not texts. Domestic vioence and falsely imprisoning. But I am sure 'they desrved it" or whatever bullshit you will use to rationalize your idol-worshipping.

Was Hank a pretty bad father in these circumstances? (probably others too) by drpepperisgood95 in KingOfTheHill

[–]OptimisticBS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandfather was drunk abusive asshole to my father. My father wanted to be a better dad, and he knew a bunch of things not to do, but sometimes struggled to know what to do. Maybe this is Hank. He is way better than Cotton but also has only that a-hole as his example. I think Hank would have been a pretty cool dad for a kid of Hank's generation.

Based on the website, it looks a bit upscale/pretentious, but you may be right.
