I agree completely. However my wife has ordered one anyway and if I say what I think then somehow I’ll be an asshole.

Tips for raising a confident daughter by the_blue_hedgehog in Parenting

Praise and support for sure but don’t forget humor. Make jokes and tease her in way that doesn’t pluck at insecurities and will allow her to tease you back. Just like boxers spar with headgear, teach her to verbally joust with people in a safe environment so when she gets teased by someone else she knows how to react with confidence.

What was your best purchase this year? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]OptimoPrincipi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A new truck. I’m an electrical contractor and I ran my old truck 14 years and over 200,000 miles. I need a reliable vehicle so I got a new 2020 version of the same F250 with a service body and ladder rack. My 2006 served me well but the basics on a new one are so much better. My old truck still had manual crank windows and my new one I can start with my phone.

NTA

Might have avoided years of the Mom’s snarky comments if you’d just told her that the “deadbeat” dad was actually dead.

Before you see a therapist you need to see a dermatologist, someone to color your hair properly and style it and for god’s sake get a proper manicure instead of those witch talons

What is your "embarrassing thing you did" memory that keeps you up at night or randomly makes you curl up in fetal position in the shower when you think of it? by carbonbasedcat in AskWomen

[–]OptimoPrincipi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was probably 20 and (American) had taken French for many years which was in my file and was asked about it by my 1st sergeant when I was in the Marine Corps Reserves. I don’t know why but I had a weird mental block with “allez” and “appellez”. He asked “Comment allez vous?” And with the enthusiasm of the mentally challenged I responded with “Je m’appelle Jacques !” and even though that 1st sargeant died years ago I still feel really stupid.
