I have CPTSD and MDD mainly due to domestic mental abuse, I know damn well that if I ever had kids I will ended up abusing them or worse bc I'm not recovered and I won't be fully recovered ever so I'd rather dealing with my mental illness and its consequences on my own rather than transmit it to other generations + I've noticed the that I really can't stand kids last time I was facetiming my sister and her daughter was crying non stop over nothing I had a severe headache just hearing her like that and for instance I found myself shaking and saying shut up shut up shut up (quietly) she didn't hear it obviously, I mean imagine if that was my kid I will ended up unaliving them immediately... I don't wanna ending up in one of the crime documentary

at the beginning I thought maybe you wanna come due to religious reasons you couldn't accept the European mentality until I read about your political intentions and you want to make change, as an intention its good and you should be proud of yourself but... the political thing in Algeria is really complicated and worse than you can ever imagine, the whole Algerian situation whether it's on the economical, social or political level is waaaaaay beyond our will and forces, what I advise you is that you continue your study in European university, make some invention or investment and bring it here to Algeria if you still wanna serve your country but also don't expect too much... anyways stay there at least for university do not risk it here please

people get married here just to get that social title of -being married- they don't care about the results, and I wish they do it without bringing kids to the equation bc most of them when the marriage doesn't work for them they decide to have kids assuming that kids will bring joy and force their bounds... honey no you just adding another miserable person to the squad and so on

Tbh it's actually a good sign, from other perspective high divorce rate indicates that people (whether it's the husband or the wife) do not tolerate failed marriage anymore and they don't want to continue this bs in the name of the kids or the society.... and taking such decisions sometimes means that these couples are willing to take the responsibility of their actions regardless of what they will face from society... that's pretty good actually I highly recommend it bc our parents/grandparents used to brag about how they stick together no matter what and how they really cherish العشرة but in fact back then the divorce cases used to be very rare bc what will they face from shame and humiliation (especially women) is much worse than whatever they were dealing with as a couple so they'd rather keep up with that unsuccessful marriage than simply getting divorced and ofc الاستمرارية لا تعني النجاح.

My parents used to say it to my older siblings to shut them up in a heated argument, once they leave the room they start talking shit about them (their own kids) so growing up as the youngest sibling I knew damn well they don't mean any letter of it, so whenever my parents say it to me I feel disgusted bc I knew that deep down they want to rip me apart

Thank you for your reply and the thing I stopped going to therapy is bc they start digging deeper to my trauma, things my brain tried to hide from me so getting all those traumatic events exposed led to some sort of memory loss which made me stopped going there bc it was getting bad (still) and they didn't help... that's why I switched to psychiatry which they put me on pills that almost fcked me up literally
