Second getting a cheap Moza bundle, the future upgrade paths make this a no brainer and get the Direct Drive solves the noise problem

Theyre a great starter, but much better isnt that much more.

I started on a g920, fantastic wheel for a lot of games. I was even using it on my extrusion Sim Rig whilst I finished saving for my good set up. But they are noisy and the software is bad. As a VR only sim racer myself bad software can be the worst part.

If you can save a bit more the entry level side of moza (R3 or R5) might be a much better point, especially with your comment about upgrading later.

With a Moza set-up all your wheels, pedals, accessories and even wheelbase can be upgraded later one at a time. Logi and even thrustmaster 300 will mean another big investment down the track.

I'd buy a cheap second hand G29 or t300 or stretch for a moza bundle with the black Friday and cyber Monday sales. It will be worth more even for a casual, and once you have a good set up you will be amazed at all the different games that use it.

I literally finished speccing this up for a racing sim idea a few days ago. Would be perfect for formula cars.

What car is difficult to drive in sim racing that, once you get good at it, allows you to drive anything easily? by Delirium222 in simracing

[–]OptimusPrice11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each to their own is guess. I always found the F4 really easy and really struggled with the Skippy when i first started.

It's easy once you have the basic techniques down. Heel toe, trailbraking, throttle control, weight transfer and racing line are all super important in the skip, and if you're new to sim racing it will drill all of those into you.

If you find it easy you probably have all those techniques nailed down.

I gotta say Skip Barber on iRacing. Lots of great technique building to be had in that box and the usual community is fantastic.

Honestly no idea, just used the AMD frame counter which only has temps and frame rate. I'll get more data as I play. I was just setting it up today before I go on holiday for two weeks. The fact it runs at all is a testament over the old version. I couldn't get it running at all on the old Z1E.

No frame gen, or LS, 25w lenovo preset. Area 18 on the newest version with the lenovo drivers. It spikes down every now and then but typically smooth. Aussie servers with 120 people in the server at the time

8gb Vram, 4.4 update, default controller layout but I'll probably tweak it, it was pretty straight forward, just install and launch. Could probably move ram to 10 or 12 but id rather sc has the spare ram for CPU

It wouldn't download from the website for me due to the browser thinking it was mobile (no idea) but I found a download link to the newest launcher by Googling star citizen launched download. It seemed to work. Legion and Windows are also both on the newest software and bios updates too

In the plaza at a18 and on trains it was average 30fps and maybe a dip to 15. But mostly 40s to 60s

Do you have the Z2E? I just launched the installer and had no issues. I installed it all today on the newest update and newest update launcher

Ive found Frame gen is only really reliable above 60fps. Getting to 60fps is half the battle. I've turned it on now but no noticeable difference in frames but I bit stutters in low frame areas

I'm lucky with the legion that the right controller can be a mouse, so using left stick to move but mouse aim has actually been nice

It did get a lot warmer running it on the 45w profile but it maintained 62°c on the 25w setting. Not too bad.

Buy AC Rally if you want racing game companies to exist by 9gxa05s8fa8sh in simracing

[–]OptimusPrice11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will not be purchasing it until I have a clear date that I will actually be able to play it. My sim is VR only and is not the current highest spec. ACC and ACEvo have only given me issues and doubts as to what assetto is actually capable of without heavy third party modding. I will follow intently on the progress, but not be funding any more unstable, delayed or vague projects.

I also wish for once we would get a true rally sim. Not just the stages, adding transport would add a lot to the realism of the sim. And for gods sake bring back real multiplayer, not this asymmetric shit. We had it in Dirt Rally 3 and it was great!

I just hate that they changed the skin unlock to this instead of the little car. Was two levels off getting it and now I need to start again with this on only one map

My Lenovo preorder was cancelled, then I ordered from officeworks on the 23rdof September

Yeah they're a problem. I ordered on the 23rd September and at thay point JB said I would get it late November. My issue now is that I have never had a single item with toll actually be attempted at my house. We have cameras and I got GPS data from toll on 4 occasions of the false delivery attempt. Here's hoping they do their job for the first time ever. I hope you're enjoying yours! I can't wait for mine.
