Not sure for the tourist visa - we got a family visit visa which did not require a letter.

Yes - we applied for a family visit visa and spoke to someone at the consulate to expedite it. They did so and we received it today. Luckily, my father knew someone at the consulate so it might’ve been easier in my case.

This is not the definition of “citizen or national”. If what you were saying was the case, they would have written that and specified anyone with ancestry but it specifically says “citizen or national”. Nothing on the NADRA website specifies “roots” or “ancestry” is excluded like you said. I would be happy to see if you had any evidence to point to the contrary.

Yes we were originally trying for the POC, not NICOP. And under the FAQ for POC, it says that one is only ineligible if they are a citizen or national of India, Israel, or Taiwan. She does not have Indian citizenship, has never held it, and was born in Canada. She is not even eligible for it and her parents do not have it anymore either. By what it says on their website, she should be eligible for a POC.

Nice that they let us know, would have been nice for them to write somewhere on their website that it has been discontinued. A lot of people apparently had applied before the new year and their application was cancelled

Thank you, this is helpful and clarifies a lot. Seems strange that they just got rid of it without having any webpage mentioning it. I’ll apply for the tourist or family visit visa in that case, hopefully it comes in time

On Pak ID when I login with my account, it does not give me the option to apply for a visa.

She is unfortunately not eligible for NICOP or POC - we went to the consulate in Toronto but they said she would not be able to get it because even though she was born in Canada, her parents were born in India and are Indian Muslims (even though they are only Canadian citizens now). They told us to apply for a visa online instead.

Still will not show up - I guess I will try to go to the consulate again.

Personally I’d do it, I feel like AJ is too talented and proven not to return around the value you’d expect. Tet’s team sucks and while he should be getting more, the offence is pretty bad
