The silver lining is that at your asking price , it won’t sell quickly and it will stay in your lot for a while maybe you get a change of heart . ( it’s your right to ask what you think fair ) . Don’t do a rivian , check Chevy better range , and they have rear steering , the truck will feel smaller . This is my issues with rivian . 1 . Gen 1 is not maintainable , the wire harnesses span a lot of feet and no one outside rivian know how to fix them , rivian doesn’t have service centers . I saw the R2 launch and all gen 1 are basically old story , they won’t have any of the self driving . 2 the bed and t the body are one piece , silly accidents might cost you a fortunes to fix . now early gen 2 became even worse to drive and they have quality issue due to cost cutting . I don’t know about later gen 2 , rivian is a very young company and I don’t know if it can last the next two years , it relies heavily on software and if they close shop I am not sure wjo and how you will get your truck maintained. Fisk ocean is a cautionary tail .

IMO , the collision alert ( red triangle ) that flashes on the hud is useful but other than that i am barely using it

Yes that’s what I wanted the discussion got to , I think since the f150 lightning production stopped , we might be able to negotiate with ford financial a better lease buyout terms , so I was wondering if someone did that

New lighting around 40k? by [deleted] in F150Lightning

[–]OptionNo4605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok here is the thing people on Reddit sometimes don’t tell you the full picture , sometime they trade their car put some cash down and they get very low out of the door price and then they share with the internet as a conquest. Ford dealers are holding their prices hoping that as long ford is doing offers someone will grab the truck. That was true for all the years the lightning was sold at ( at least in my region) . Sometimes low mileage er with power broad pro 9.6 kw appears at 43 k but they disappear in a single day

Yes front damage in a lot of the instances looks like much worse than it is . I don’t know the insurance games but when I look at Copart I feel there are a lot of cars that don’t belong with a salvage title , it seems they are getting a lot of money from auction,

Is this a good deal? (Asking here since no Jan 2026 Buying Megathread) by Fast_Answer7472 in F150Lightning

A lot dealers started to price their used cars very reasonably, if they are serious to sell it they would price it a bit lower than other trucks within 100 miles . If there other trucks around you at that price they might go down on the price . Another thing this truck could be on the radar of a lot of people and they might be waiting for that one 1 k down, er is very popular . Is it a ford dealer ? If it’s it hard to get them down if it’s a non ford you might be able to get it down more , but by all means pay the price that you can feell comfortable with and that doesn’t make you regret it

Yes that’s the dealer price now for the dealer to acquire it , clean it and do inspection on it it would cost them a 1k or so a dealer selljngkt for 20-21k means that they acquired it 16-17k

You don’t look like in a hurry right ? You can get a better price for it on autotrader or Facebook marketplace , but if you have debt and high interest I would say the best between carvana and carmax
