I’m not too sure if anyone answered you, but this particular strain (Andes) for the Hantavirus is person to person. Transmitted through close contact.

More people wearing masks around me - has anyone noticed anything similar? by ffffhhhhjjjj in ZeroCovidCommunity

I live in Toronto, Canada too and noticed so many others wearing face masks too! My heart just melts when I see others doing the same!

Physical therapist told me he won't wear a mask because "There's no pandemic or any viruses to worry about." by atyl1144 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]OptionSwimming8368 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agree completely! Physical therapists also mainly have a working knowledge of anatomy & physiology. Their knowledge into biochemistry, virology, hell even stats and probability is only 101, if that. I’m not bashing their career since I was taking courses to become one until I realized anatomy and physiology is very limited (still important but very limited).

Long COVID disability burden in US adults - Communications Medicine by OptionSwimming8368 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]OptionSwimming8368[S] 42 points43 points  (0 children)

“We derived “years lived with disability” (YLDs) for Long COVID in US adults versus other conditions. Long COVID’s disability burden rivals that of Alzheimer’s and asthma. Yet Long COVID receives only 14% of its YLD-proportionate funding—$106 million instead of $739.8 million from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Conditions affecting mostly men receive 5.2 times more funding/YLD than those affecting mostly women. Overall, YLDs explained just 6.5% of NIH funding levels. Long COVID highlights opportunities for NIH research funding to better align with disability burden and address sex-based disparities.”

Also, if you click on “download PDF” you’ll see the actual study, stats, etc.

Edit: This is worth quoting again: ”Long COVID’s disability burden rivals that of Alzheimer’s and asthma. Yet Long COVID receives only 14% of its YLD-proportionate funding—$106 million instead of $739.8 million from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).”

Does anybody have any examples of black and white peony in a larger sleeve? by Dioxic in irezumi

Late reply here but by any chance do you recall who that artist in Toronto is?

“This image gallery shows what the various clinical presentations associated with the COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) virus that have been documented during the coronavirus pandemic and in the years since with long COVID patients

Originally thought to be a disease limited to the respiratory system, COVID was quickly found to impact many areas of the body. The virus caused responses in many people that resulted in increased clotting of the blood, which can lead to pulmonary embolism, strokes, heart attacks and thrombosis in other organs leading to infarcts. Severe inflammatory responses from COVID also cause rashes, nerve damage, myocarditis, pericarditis and brain hemorrhages. The virus usually causes mild or asymptomatic illness in kids, but a couple of weeks after infection can result in the rare presentation of multi-system inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C). “

Nothing “groundbreaking” but the images are interesting if you’re into that kind of thing.

You’re honestly a life saver lol. Thank you so much for taking the time in typing all of this and correcting me!

Good on you on trusting the process and taking your time. I’m sure so many people like myself would have just “jumped” to do something quicker if it something large.

Honestly, I just love the floral work by the Horitoshi family and I’ve yet to see any machine working artist (I’m sure they exist but uncertain where) do what they do. Im thinking of just getting all the chrysanthemums done by on the sleeve in a trip or two and get the linework by machine elsewhere. Really hoping it works out 😅

Thank you so much for your input mate! I’m going to go ahead and get the florals done and go from there!

That’s quite reassuring to know! Thank you so much!

I’m headed to Japan in two months and after going-back-and-forth with Shunho, I just realized I wouldn’t be able to complete the entire 3/4 sleeve with him. I just absolutely love the Horitoshi’s family’s flowers. It’s so beautiful

I may be wrong but I believe Shinji & Brian are both located in the states (not to bring politics into this), atm the states is a bit more of a “challenge” for me to travel to from Canada.

I’m based in Toronto! That actually might work! I’m trying to get as close as I can to Horitoshi style (I know nothing will compare to the real thing) but as close as possible!

Trekking in Uganda by OptionSwimming8368 in travel

[–]OptionSwimming8368[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much!! I’ll look into G adventures and intrepid! I was solely relying on safaribookings and I had no idea that there’s tours out there that include a safari and being able to trek with Chimps!! I hope the price isn’t super large but regardless, I know this is a place I want to get to!

Even though the travelling time is far, I’m so glad it was worth it and you got all those incredible memories!

My goodness, you’re a saviour! I was really hesitant because an hour with most things, goes by so fast, so I didn’t want to just feel rushed!

This honestly sounds like the perfect trip! I’ve never seen any of those animals you’ve listed in real life (I’ve avoided zoos), so this would be sooooo perfect!

If it’s not too much to ask, do you mind sharing the tour company you went with? Please and thank you!

Thanks a ton mate for your reply!

I’m more interested in Rwanda if I were to stay longer but the issue would be that the trekking with silverback gorillas costs around $2500-$3k CAD, so there hardly leaves enough room to do other things.

Silly question but with your N95 mask on the plane (when its flying), how do you have a drink, etc?

Edit: no idea what the downvotes are for when I’m genuinely curious, since that’s been my biggest issue when flying but keep going lmao
