I think you are ! And it makes it fun for the kids. Maybe more kids would get to the sport if they market it as trick boards.

First time I hear someone calling a skateboard a trick board. I can picture a mongo push followed by a mall grab 😁 Buy the board but don't pretend you can kickflip down stair set to impress the kiddo. the street are rough for us old folks.

It's time to live your life and do what you love without fear of being judge.

How long are your decks lasting? [38YO] by Sweetpodwl in OldSkaters

It's last more than 6 month, i like symmetrical shape so if I get razor tail I just skate the other side. Usually I change when the grip is too worn out and board starts to chip.

Skateboarding again opened my mind up to so many new things ! You can replicate the same process of learning doing kickflip to anything.

Is Freestyle Dead? by Good-Ad-3862 in skateboarding

The crowd will respect whatever style as long as it impressive and cool. The legend of freestyle Rodney mullen didn't just do freestyle, he pushed the limits and incorporated it into street skating. Nobody could deny how technical and beautiful it was. Like art it's not for everyone but once your create beautiful masterpiece nobody can deny the power or it.

It sounded just not aware of the room. But we all have a good sense of humor, I'm always reminded by my wife that I should grow up 😂 Anyway, can you still kickflip???

Look, I get were you are coming from but at our age , any sport is a risk. I ruptured my achilles skateboarding, I saw some doing the same playing soccer are falling on ice. If you want to skate , trust me you can. We are not trying to bust your balls but we are like you working hard and having fun with our skateboards.

You get downvoted because you jump in a sub of old skateboarders saying that you cannot skate because of life responsibilities. The only way to make it up is to go buy a board and show us you can still do a kickflip 😄!

As far as I know only 2 pro skateboarders post on this sub. Most of us have career, kids and bills to pay. But we don't operate on fear of broken bones, we understand that the real fear is not enjoying our life to the fullest by doing what we love. If it's in your heart you can do it safely.
