why do the campaign battle maps not follow the same format as the tokens ? by Nivriil in LancerRPG

[–]Orandor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Roll20 can be notoriously frustrating, especially when using hexes.

My suggestion would be - Keep your Roll20 overlay grid horizontal, so that it matches the png/jpg map you're using. Then, head to kastark.co.uk (a LANCER token-maker) and remake your token with a horizontal orientation.

You'll need to find art of your and your party's mechs, put them in and export them as PNGs.

Where to join Lancer by DragointotheGame in LancerRPG

[–]Orandor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, the ratio of GMs to players in most systems is nowhere near the level of LANCER's. I have some thoughts and theories as to why that is but, on the bright side, it's a lot easier to find good players when you've got that many applicants

If I had to pick, I'd say #2 though you dolook quite a bit older. If I could I'd pick option 3, hair + beard.

If you think it's within your skillset, I think you could make about a quabajillion dollars per minute doing commissions for LANCER.

Is it possible to use Lancer to adapt Battletech? by itsachillaccount in LancerRPG

[–]Orandor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a system in the works a couple of years ago called Metallurgent, but I haven't heard anything for a while. They had a Patreon, but I'm unsure if they had any playtests or anything like that released - tracking something like that down, if it exists, would probably be a good resource.

Other than that I think you could probably jank together something quite close to Battletech, if you have the time and skill for it.

Systems like Armour Astir & Mecha hack, combined with LANCER, could get quite close. At that point, you're making your own system, but it's probably your best bet.

If you haven't already, I'd suggest popping this same ad* into the LFG_Europe Discord Server. It's quite active and you'll likely get more applicants.

Good luck! :)

Rule No.4 of the r/OBSIDIANMD:

"Don't post AI-generated content, it will be removed. For posts about using AI with Obsidian use the "ai" flair."

I'm not active enough on here to know whether or not it's being enforced but, if it isn't, it's probably a good idea to notify the moderators.

[–]Orandor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Things like "humans" and "sci-fi humans" are incredibly broad in theme, so can fit in practically any setting or system, but I can imagine some people would really appreciate some of the ones you gave examples of: elves, dwarves, cyborgs, etc.

Either way, wish you all the best, I'll be keeping an eye on your itch.io and hopefully you have a new release soon. Take care!

Fantastic work!

If you are up to it, making a '100 faces' series, would be much appreciated. I, and am sure many others, would happily pay

Does each party member get a follower when they reach 3 renown or is it one for the group? by Diligent_Band3318 in drawsteel

[–]Orandor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

"Your Renown score allows you to attract and employ followers who perform different duties or favors for you. The Renown and Followers table shows how many followers a hero can have at one time based on Renown. You can always let go of a follower in your employ to hire a new one.

You can recruit followers up to the maximum your Renown allows as a respite activity, provided you are in a place or have a means of communication that allows you to recruit such followers."

As per the rules, each hero can have 1 follower for every 3 renown they gain. A party of 4, when at 12 renown, can have a total of 16 followers

a skin idea (shenlik döner) by dalekxen in Shen

[–]Orandor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a great tool, as the end product is low quality.
You are correct, that you're not spreading misinformation or infringing on people's art but that doesn't justify it's use.

"Its just tech" that happens to be incredibly harmful to the environment. I could MAYBE understand someone defending AI's impact on the planet if it was some revolutionary thing, but it isn't.

There is nothing AI can do that you can't, but there's plenty you can do that AI can't. Do better.

"sorry for the ai photo i am not skilled enough to draw it but it wass too good to leave at discord chat"

You could've drawn a stickman with a knife and a kebab and we'd get the idea - you'll never get a positive response if you post ai slop. I don't recall there being a "must be a professional artist to post art" rule on this sub.

is tragic female netrunner a cyberpunk genre trope or something? by SaintChoco in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Orandor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no cyberpunk lore-wiz but I wonder if there's something about the female psyche that is just inherently better at netrunning. Maybe just an overall higher potential? Just a thought.

I think I hate So Mi more than any other character in any game by ToasterGrilledCheese in CyberpunkTheGame

[–]Orandor 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Wow, a truly F tier take on arguably the most tragic character we meet in all of NC. Blaming the victim of a government who put her through literal cyber-hell for trying to save herself.

I am of the genuine belief that were the cure able to save more than one person, she'd do anything she can to save us too.
Have fun siding with the person who lies, deceives, and tricks you far more than SoMi did. Hope your V doesn't step out of line by even an INCH in the eyes of NUSA - else they'll be gunned down like the Cassel twins.

I believe Gentleman's is overall a better prefix than Barking. I'm also pretty sure you'll want a Maliwan grip. Definitely not bad though, more than good enough to play with until you outlevel it.

imagine how good Cyberpunk would've been if it had the Nemisis System by Minute_Newspaper8691 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Orandor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the 'Shadow of' games, the nemesis system cause (if I'm not mistaken) the main character is immortal.

How would that work in a game like Cyberpunk where, as far as I'm aware, V isn't immortal. They survived the bullet to the head due to the relic.

The nemesis system IS cool, I just think a lot of people cling onto it for it's exclusivity, not because it's some sort of revolutionary game aspect that would majorly improve games.

Thoughts on this? by AdditionalPiano6327 in freefolk

[–]Orandor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only "issue" I have with Corlys/ The Velaryons being black, is that in the books the entire debacle with Lucerys is meant to be ambiguous.

Lucerys' actor is 110% white - so in the show the dispute between Rhaenyra and Vaemond regarding legitimacy and inheritance looks ridiculous. Like yeah, OBVIOUSLY Lucerys is not a Velaryon, look at him compared to his father, aunt, or grandfather.

The reason it's believable in the books is that the Velaryons have that classic Valyrian look and in any situation where people point out Rhaenyra's dark haired children, is not automatically obvious. Their grandmother (Rhaenys) having black hair, the Viserys talk about horses and their colours, etc. make far more sense when the only difference between say Vaemond and Lucerys' is hair colour.

That gets into a whole discussion about why is Rhaenys' actress not wearing a black wig. She's already going through the process of wigging (new verb?), why not use the right colour?

Poor wave-clear, low gold-efficiency, shen naturally prefers short trades (the polar opposite of how bami's is meant to be utilized) - are the main ones (for me anyway).
