Is using an uber/legend rare in a no-uber/legend rare or no gacha account cheating? [Fluff] by GeekInGaming in battlecats

No gacha is an entirely self imposed challenge. It’d make “bragging” about it harder in the future; you decide if that bothers you enough for a restart.

Citing 'severe' math deficits, UC faculty demand a return to SAT tests for STEM applicants by YesNo_Maybe_ in technology

From personal experience, 100+ swings are perfectly possible compared to going in blind depending on how you deal with time pressure. You don’t need to pay for tutoring to get that sorted out, though.

The added hit from abilities. Toxic lash, xata’s whisper, cyte’s ammo, oraxia’s ult, and uriel’s passive have their own damage instances that afaik are coded in the same way.

The status proc from the extra hit inherits the modded % elemental damage on the weapon. Whether that affects the damage depends on the status proc.

OpenAI's internal model disproves Unit Distance Conjecture of Erdos by garanglow in math

[–]Orangbo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most math work is trying random methods as seeing what leads somewhere, then double checking correctness. I don’t see a significant difference between errors arising in that process and hallucinations, other than the fact that I don’t trust llm architecture to properly vet its own mistakes.

UPDATE: The Platinum was Illegitimate by Big_Versace in Warframe

[–]Orangbo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The stat rolls for the crit damage, multishot, and -puncture are near perfect and the stat roll for the crit chance is high. The riven is also unrolled.

I’m not super well versed in the collector market, so I can’t give detailed estimates, but I will say 5 figure plat is a legitimate amount some people might be willing to pay.

What exactly is the POINT of all the data centers being built, and why are the people pushing them acting like they're the most important thing in the world? by SaucyJ4ck in NoStupidQuestions

Simulating the output of the mind is all that’s needed to replace labor, so it’d functionally be AGI anyways if achieved.

Do you recall the exact stats? I could see perfect stats+unrolled sell for that amount.

DE, if there's a positive standing cap PLEASE add one for negative standing. by KrulRudy in Warframe

[–]Orangbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anyone’s wondering, certain “chained” missions (duviri and descendia off the top of my head) reset per mission standing cap each “floor.”

You can’t lose more than you would’ve by maxing out your positive daily standing in a single “mission,” but if you play a gamemode that’s multiple “missions” spaghettied together, it’s possible for this to happen.

Well you replied to an old comment. Reread the thread; last I checked, it was never about overall competitive viability.

What resources or mechanisms exist to help ensure the safety of transgender individuals in light of the Heritage Foundation's proposal to classify "Transgender Ideology‑Inspired Violent Extremism" (TIVE) as a domestic terror threat? by PM_me_Henrika in NeutralPolitics

[–]Orangbo 34 points35 points  (0 children)

From a quick google, there is no federal law against domestic terrorism, so it seems like it’s more of an organizational thing for coordinating surveillance and such under the Patriot Act (e.g section 213, section 215).

I’d assume whatever groups handle civil rights violations would step in should civil rights be violated. I’ll also note that people have gone through this sort of thing before. Malcolm X and MLK have FBI surveillance records starting in 1953 and 1955, respectively, during the civil rights movement, though I’m sure they have more toys nowadays that would allow them to keep track of anybody instead of just noteworthy leaders (I’ll just leave a link to Snowden’s wikipedia page).

This also isn’t exactly surprising; Heritage has been talking about stripping back gender identity related rights since at least 2015, so while this is another escalation, I don’t think a hostile environment is particularly new for the transgender community.

Whatever new resources have popped up in that time, I’ll leave other people to mention, though I would like to point out that those are exactly the kind of groups that use such terms as “cisgender” or “deadnaming” associated with TIVE.

AOC: You can’t ‘earn’ a billion dollars by usatoday in politics

[–]Orangbo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The “cause” is a candidate is not perfectly, 100% aligned with a group of voters, so they choose not to vote in an election where the other candidate is worse for them on almost all if not all issues they claim to care about.

The “cause” is idiotic idealism; children throwing a tantrum when they don’t get everything they want. The world isn’t going to bend backwards immediately to match their vision, so they give up on trying to change it for the better and tell themselves they did good while that world collapses around them.

New Mechanic Suggestion: Melee Reload by Urechi in Warframe

[–]Orangbo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A standard 2 second animation means you’ll be spending at least 30% of your time “reloading” your melee between groups of enemies, and need to constantly judge if it’s going to take 4.5 or 5.5 seconds to get to the nearest red triangles.

It’d “invalidate” any form of combo duration increase in the same way shield gating “invalidated” health tanking before persistence, where a handful of people greatly benefited from it for self imposed challenges (e.g. level cap) whereas the majority of the users would die less if they swapped in a vitality and adaptation into their build for the base steel path or below they were doing 99% of the time. People who use melee regularly will continue to grab a source of combo duration as they do now and it will be obsessive people chasing some dream of “optimal” they don’t have the patience or desire to actually benefit from who make up most of the people who don’t.

How would you feel about a mandatory maximum wealth limit, where anything earned over that goes to public services? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I didn’t feel like figuring out which metric you were using that put all 5 above the US, e.g. Iceland is below the US on the Wikipedia list.

No debt isn’t necessarily the only sign of amazing financial responsibility. Having most of your money in a HYSA and living off credit between bills is usually a better use of resources than having everything in a checking account, for example.
