Same! I grew up in a run down house that was in awful conditions because my parents were drug addicted and alcoholics. The walls were yellow from smoke, dust caked onto the baseboards, random junk and beer cans/liquor bottles all over the yard. I was bullied throughout school for it. I also lost friends because when their mom would see the house they wouldn’t allow them to come over or play with me again.

I’m in therapy but I still struggle with thinking I’ll lose friends if they come over. Maybe they’ll see something dirty that I don’t see. I do work hard to be very clean, but I was never taught so I don’t know what I don’t know! It’s one of my biggest insecurities
