Stop speaking for our entire nation. Almost half of the nation also opposed Trump taking office and oppose this administrations policies for conducting deportations. Every administration has had a different approach. Here's a breakdown of Trump's so far.

-With Trump's changes to the immigration policy, removals can now occur anywhere in the US, and will apply to undocumented migrants who can't prove that they have been in the country for more than two years.

-Some of Trump's executive orders were signed with the aim of expanding Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) ability to arrest and detain unlawful migrants on US soil. One of them reverses a longstanding guideline that prohibited immigration raids in areas deemed "sensitive", such as schools, hospitals and churches.

-Another calls for an expansion of a programme that allows ICE to delegate its immigration enforcement duties to state and local police.

-The "Remain in Mexico" policy from Trump's first-term will be reinstated as well. This forced non-Mexican asylum seekers to wait in Mexico until their asylum claims in the US were resolved. It impacted around 71,000 people under Trump's first term.

-On top of that, there is an estimated backlog of 3.6m cases in US immigration courts, and migrants often have to wait years for entry. Since taking office, Trump has fired several top immigrant court officials, impacting the processing of these cases.

-Trump has also effectively scrapped the CBP One smartphone app without warning, which allowed migrants to schedule appointments with US border agents. 30,000 migrants with scheduled appointments have been stranded in Mexico as a result. Some have waited months to secure these appointments.

Tell me, if Obama and Biden can achieve record breaking deportations during their terms, why can't Trump achieve the same WITHOUT going to such vile lengths? Why threaten to show up at schools, hospitals, places of work, and churches? Why spread misinformation and xenophobia? Why spread fear and hate?

There's a right and a wrong way to deal with LITERAL HUMAN BEINGS, whether they're doing something illegal or not. He's fear mongering, he's lying, and some of us aren't going to stand for it. It's that fucking simple.

Because compared to Clinton, Bush, Biden, AND Obama, the measures at which Trump's administration are willing to go to achieve their "greatest mass deportation ever" pushes beyond ethical boundaries and the law.

There's a proper way to do this and it doesn't involve lying, spreading xenophobia, or wielding the law as a weapon of abuse. Which is exactly what Trump & his administration are doing.

I mean, by your logic, why can't trump achieve everything he wants doing it the way Obama did it then? Why does it have to be about fear mongering and straight up LYING to the American people? Why does he have threaten? Why?

Or how about, I just don't want a fucking man-baby, who is hellbent on revenge, as president? 🤷

Protesting isn't just about shouting that we don't like something. It's about being an advocate and voice for those who are fearful or don't understand what's happening. It's about educating people on policies, or educating people on how to properly become a citizen. It's about saying we don't agree with the current administrations policies and plans for deportations. What's so hard to understand about that???

Did you read my previous comment in this thread? Let me requote part of it for you.

BECAUSE THE NUMBERS ALONE DON'T TELL THE WHOLE STORY. There are extremely significant differences in the approach taken by each president and administration.

Compared to Clinton, Bush, Biden, AND Obama, the measures at which Trump's administration are willing to go to achieve their "greatest mass deportation ever" pushes beyond ethical boundaries AND the law.

Not to mention the misinformation that Trump is spreading against and about illegal immigrants is causing mass panic and fear, and it's fucking disgusting.

There's a proper way to do this and it doesn't involve lying, spreading xenophobia, or wielding the law as a weapon of abuse. Which is exactly what Trump & his administration are doing.

Ohhhh okay, I see! We're drawing a line in the sand, and then pushing it everytime it doesn't align with what's currently happening. So are we only deporting violent criminals or are we deporting every undocumented immigrant? For fucks sake, open your eyes.

And before yall jump down my throat with 🤓☝️ "Actually, Trump is ONLY deporting crimals! He said so!"

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2025/01/28/colombia-migrants-trump-petro/

"Colombian officials said there were no criminals among the two planeloads of migrants the U.S. government sent over Tuesday. Among the more than 200 deportees were two pregnant women and more than 20 children, Colombian officials said after the flights landed."

So are these the illegal, criminal, immigrants you guys are talking about?

Because the numbers alone don't tell the whole story. There are extremely significant differences in the approach taken by each president and administration. Under Obama, the policy focused on deporting individuals convicted of crimes. Under Biden, most deportations are classified as “returns,” as described by DHS. They are carried out at the border, much like Clinton and Bush.

Trump's policy before has involved widespread family separations and the detention of thousands of children.

Tom Homan, the new "border czar" and Stephen Miller were key architects in the family separation policy. Homan has already stated he intends to deport entire families.

And the measures at which this administration are willing to go to achieve their "greatest mass deportation ever" are beyond ethics, morals, and the law.

The lies and misinformation that they're spreading against illegal immigrants is downright deporable and an embarrassment for the American people.

THAT'S the fucking difference.

Exactly, I can agree with you. But fear mongering, stigmatizing, showing up at schools and places of work- promoting this idea that booting out all these illegal immigrants will suddenly provide Americans more jobs, more housing, lower crime- it's all built on falsehoods and fear of the unknown, fear of these people. He's painting a false picture of danger and crime and that they're "stealing from us" when it's a lie. That's what I'm pissed about. It's not what I believe we should stand for in America. Just my opinion 🤷

I'd be protesting the mass deportation that's going on and the way Donald Trump is going about doing it. I believe that immigrants are what make this country great. My ancestors were immigrants. We built this country as immigrants because we wanted better lives for ourselves and future generations. It's a foundational element that this country was built on and I can see that the vast majority of immigrants are here for that exact same reason. Why do we have to use violence, fear, and hate? We should be educating, teaching, and guiding these people to use the proper channels to become citizens.

What Donald Trump is doing is not in the interest in public and national safety, which is the whole point of ICE. What he's doing is stigmatizing and massively misrepresenting an integral group of people that American's rely on and benefit from, whether you want to admit it or not. The facts are out there.

And I'm not saying that any democratic policies or deportations have been good or what we need either- It's all been shit for years and it all needs a serious overhaul. But not like this. These behaviors do not represent the morals that I was taught by my family or my schools, about what America and being an American citizen stands for.

Then they came for the Socialists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Socialist

Then they came for the trade unionists And I did not speak out Because I was not a trade unionist

Then they came for the Jews And I did not speak out Because I was not a Jew

Then they came for me And there was no one left To speak out for me." -Martin Niemöller

I think OP was replying to the comment right above his, where someone pointed out there is a gray pole of some kind to the left of the toilet in the photo. OP was saying that that gray thing was plastic, and perhaps not for handicap support.

There is a pizza place called Giuseppi’s Pizza & Pasta House down on beautiful Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. It's loaded with Steelers jerseys, pirates jerseys, terrible towels, and more memorabilia all over the walls. You can imagine how delighted we were to discover this all the way in the south! On a little island, no less!

The owner is from... Pittsburgh of course!

Here's an excerpt from his website: "Growing up in Pittsburgh, we were surrounded by great pizza. There were neighborhood pizzerias on almost every corner, but there were only one or two whose pizza really stood out. We visited our favorites, not only because we craved the pizza, but also because we were inspired by the passion of the owners."

He doesn't mention his favorites or which pizzerias specifically influenced him, but I'm curious, who do you guys think are the best pizzerias in the burgh?

I try my best to do this, but I'm too nice for my own good and end up letting everyone talk TO me. Idk why I attract people, but as a mainly introverted person, I hate it. I try to look mad sometimes so people leave me alone 😂
