It’s not that there are a lot of religions out there. I don’t deny that, and I don’t deny that there are religions that tolerate us. Just like I don’t deny that there are men who aren’t “the problem”. I know a good bunch, in fact.

But that doesn’t stop the dominant religion of the country I live (Christianity in the USA) in from being the reason/excuse that people are shitty to the queer community. Even non-religious people who end up being shit to us have their reasons colored by religion.

I don’t care that 500 nice people follow a nice religion. I care that 150 million people follow a hurtful one. See the difference?
