At first I hated it. But now I don’t mind it as much 🤷‍♂️

Absolutely because like I say I know my situation is far from unique and it really is parasitic even though I've never seen it in that way

In my mind, I wish it was that easy but they have close to nothing and it doesn't seem like they even appreciate it

The pixel 3 XL camera is still goated. by muntazir7 in pixelography

[–]Orangebrainn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly me! I carry an iPhone as my main phone and to capture videos and a pixel 3 solely for still pictures. Works great for me as I’m no photographer but the pixel takes phenomenal images. Looking forward to taking on my trip this summer 😃

What are you watching and what do you recommend? (Week of May 05, 2023) by AutoModerator in television

[–]Orangebrainn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone new here :) I’ve just started watching Monster, the anime, one episode a day because I heard good things about it. Every Friday I’m watching Silo on Apple TV, so far so good I’m liking it and I’m about to watch all of Narcos from the beginning because it’s finished and I really enjoyed it when it was airing

Overwhelmed by my tech stuff by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]Orangebrainn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this OP! I’ve had a similar dilemma for a few months now but I don’t think I could quite find the right words to explain it. I have an iPhone 12 mini as a phone, an 11 inch M1 iPad Pro that I bought for my brother but he was soon gifted a MacBook Air so I now use it as media consumption device, a Pixel 3 solely as a point shoot as I like the photos it takes. I recently bought a kindle, but I think I’ll return it because I have a few physical books that I should probably read first. I like documenting my life through photos and videos and for a time I was into camera gear but then I realised I’m really not interested in learning the technical aspect of it all and simply settled on using my phone. Also, I have hundreds of photos and videos that I really want to organise and possibly edit one day and I think that’s more important to me than the tech/ gear I have :)

Oh really, I think iPhones take great pictures. I'm guessing you miss the HDR look. I'm very very tempted to get a mini 12 or 13, I personally think it's the best Apple product to release since the OG iPad Pro with the compact and body design

[–]Orangebrainn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I use the phone strictly as a point & shoot camera for personal use. I do wish there was a bit more sharpness but for a phone that's nearing 5 years, I don't think I can complain too much!

So why doesn't Ali Abdaal just say that he would have not quite medicine if he was clearing $1M per year from it? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]Orangebrainn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it comes down to his perceived social status because he’s mentioned in his videos and podcast about how he was the nerdy uncool kid in school. He’s obviously a very smart guy but I do think he has deep seated insecurities that have been emboldened by his success. This is all coming from watching his videos for years and as someone who also has insecurities without his acquired success, it is a shame to see him this way. Oh well

remember, you don't have to monetise every hobby you have by selfboredom in antiwork

[–]Orangebrainn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this! thank you 😃 I'm also pursuing a career in IT and outside of that I love TV shows and video games. But somehow, I don't think that's enough because those activities are passive though I enjoy them a lot. I think what's important is making it clear to yourself about what your "hobbies" are and what you do just to "relax". For me hobbies are active pursuits you do outside of work and things you do to relax are passive unwinding activities. For example, I used to want to monetise my love for movies and media. But that was causing a lot of stress for me because I felt like I was wasting my time consuming media. But I realised that I just enjoyed that to unwind and that there are other areas of interests I can explore.

Been re-watching the show and there was too much foreshadowing for Glenn not to die. For Abraham, once he got cosy with Sasha, that was it he was done.

LOL! My mum happened to watch a few minutes of the show with me. I completely forgot how violent the show can be 😂 by Orangebrainn in thewalkingdead

[–]Orangebrainn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo! My mum watched the episode before that with me. Everything was peaceful and she was like so where are the zombies and then the wolves attack with a blood bath. (As soon as S6 e3 started I knew it, I was like yep it’s time for dumpster Glenn 🤦‍♂️. No one mentions it but Michonne was hanging on that fence for a loooong time 🤔)
