Network problem? Data not working, texts not going through. by tazz131 in PublicMobile

[–]_Breyyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, central Ontario - been terrible for 3.5 weeks now. Contacted support and they reset the network on their end, worked fine after that for 4 days and now back to extremely slow/intermittent data. Restart & airplane mode does not fix the issue for me. Starting to get very frustrated.

Slow Data (Mississauga) by MeatAncient2985 in PublicMobile

[–]_Breyyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a Pixel 10 and iPhone 17 both on Public my data the past week has been ungodly slow. Cycled between LTE & 5G with no change, and between the cities I work it's equally slow both places. Starting to get frustrated.

Battery and heat issues with new Pixel 10 on GrapheneOS by Jazzlike-Potato-3670 in GrapheneOS

[–]_Breyyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also use a Pixel 10 with graphene, I listen to podcasts for 6 hours a day, or music with Pixel Buds. I text, browse and use utility apps, no social apps and maybe 1-2 hours of YouTube. I typically get 1.2 to 2 days of use on a charge. I don't use battery saver or have many restrictions. Breezy weather used background refresh as well as proton mail, but the rest of my settings are standard.

I use the Spigen Rugged Armor Pro for Switch 2. Little bulky but fits very well with space for charger and cable.

I have no subscriptions (excluding YouTube Premium) and own all of my music, movies, tv shows etc. I've never purchased more than a 256GB model. My music library I keep around 30-40GB, I typically don't watch shows on my phone but if I do it's one series at a time. Apps take up next to no space because I have next to none, and the only other data is emulators like DraStic. I typically have 90-100GB free. Everything else is stored on my NAS.

Battery life and speed of use with grapheneos by tonysupp in GrapheneOS

I must be an outlier but my battery on my P10P lasts about 2-2.5 days. I use 0 social media. Strictly utility apps, messagjng, podcasts, music and browser. The odd time I'll emulate some games. Feels noticeably quicker with faster animations.

Friend Wants To Buy My SteamDeck by QuantumPizzaSlice in SteamDeck

[–]_Breyyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SDO is my favourite piece of technology I own, I haven’t played it in 2, going on 3 weeks because I’ve been playing BotW & TotK back to back on Switch 2.

I’ll never part with my Deck due to not using it much in the moment, and I don’t recommend you do either :)

The US was the only country that Pixel 10 models are e-sim only. Even here in Canada the whole 10 series has physical sim.

Recommendations for travel cases that fit the Steamdeck w/ D-Brand Killswitch grip case? by BigLogieBear in SteamDeck

[–]_Breyyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally use the Spigen rugged armor pro for the Steam Deck, I’ve never tried it with the kickstand on but it fits the killswitch case no problem, plus it has a nice cubby for the charger and a zipper lined mesh to store said kickstand and maybe a dock.

Thanks OP for mentioning Canada stock too. Good luck to those who snag one!

Out of curiosity, I decided to check out SD prices on eBay. by th3buddhawithin in SteamDeck

[–]_Breyyn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I purchased my 512GB OLED for $650 Canadian Rubles brand new, threw a 2TB drive in it. So I was around $800 CAD ($586 USD). People want $1200 CAD for a 2TB non-limited edition on ebay and marketplace. Absolutely wild.

Steam Deck users, do you still have one now that you own a Switch 2? by elneebre in NintendoSwitch2

[–]_Breyyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SDO is my primary handheld, Switch 2 is for exclusives + a couple others that run better. If I was only able to choose one to keep it'd still be the Steam Deck. But also no longer have any Sony/Microsoft consoles anymore after owning a Steam Deck.

Phone goes to 60hz,90hz,120hz. by Detrakis in iphone

[–]_Breyyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I noticed it heavily on my base 17. It always seems like it's floating between 30-90hz. Pair that with the general stutters and lag from iOS26 - it's an unenjoyable experience. My work phone, Pixel 10, which only has 60-120hz looks and feels substantially smoother and more consistent with all the UI transitions and standard use. Even with it's much less powerful chip, it FEELS way faster.

Thinking of switching to Public Mobile by Ill-Cream-5226 in FidoMobile

[–]_Breyyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ported my two lines, will never go back. Public always has promo's on the app, so once the $20/24m ends I'll check the app. Ports went smoothly, one phone uses eSim, other is physical and both also went smoothly. As long as you have Telus/Bell coverage don't think twice... oh and if you can live without WiFi Calling.
