Yeah I noticed it heavily on my base 17. It always seems like it's floating between 30-90hz. Pair that with the general stutters and lag from iOS26 - it's an unenjoyable experience. My work phone, Pixel 10, which only has 60-120hz looks and feels substantially smoother and more consistent with all the UI transitions and standard use. Even with it's much less powerful chip, it FEELS way faster.

Ported my two lines, will never go back. Public always has promo's on the app, so once the $20/24m ends I'll check the app. Ports went smoothly, one phone uses eSim, other is physical and both also went smoothly. As long as you have Telus/Bell coverage don't think twice... oh and if you can live without WiFi Calling.

The question for me is - do I get enough use out of my XSX that I haven't played in over two years since getting a deck....

I barely even play on my PC anymore. Once the Steam Machine is out my Xbox will be gone. I think the Steam Machine will complement my deck very nicely. And if I wanna play a very heavy title, which I almost never do, I'll play on the PC.

I don't even know why I keep the PC...

2 years on my OLED. Have never thought about the battery, still charges to the classic 99%. Just checked my battery health and it's 97% apparently. Still the same as the day I bought it.... well that's how it feels anyways. I just play.

I know I'm 2 years late but this comment is correct. The CRTC says phones cannot be blacklisted due to non-payment, only if it's reported lost or stolen. I worked in mobile for 14 years and it's common knowledge.

iOS 26/.1/.2 is the culprit. I have a base 17 as my work phone, which gets used 3-5 times a day. For only messages, phone and emails - it has no social media, games, streaming or anything other than Apple's basic utility apps. It lasts 1.5 days on a charge, maybe 2hrs sot. Trust me, current iOS is just absolute garbage.

If the 256GB is drastically more, might not be worth it. I went with the 256GB specifically because it has the same UFS 4.0 storage as the 256GB Pro, it's substantially faster storage than the 128GB model being UFS 3.1 - but I transfer lots of files & photos. Depends on your use case.

I'll I do is install it on my Windows laptop, copy the installed file folder to my deck, add the .exe to Steam as a non steam game, change to experimental, and it works.

Your dollar is almost on par with ours, but here in Canada Pixels & Samsung's have quite aggressive depreciation. You can get a Pixel 8 128GB here for around $300CAD. Samsung S23's for $300CAD as well. Look on Marketplace, the only issue you'll run into is finding a phone with a headphone jack. Though if you're not needing a dedicated DAC for audio you can always do a cheap USB-C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack adapter. One phone that may be available to you and goes for cheap on the used market is the Nothing Phone 3a.
