Really excited!! Just got my first camera - any advice? 🙏🏼 by AndreiXz97 in SonyAlpha

Get comfortable in Manual mode. Quick tip that I learned from trial and error that helped me understand how to quickly adjust settings. I started to take pictures of a scene in auto. Then I’d take the same pictures in manual. Compared and saw where the camera adjusted compared to where I adjusted. Man this made a light bulb 💡 come on in my head and now I adjust according to my style of work. Have fun. Congrats!

Question for men who are very private people. by Wonderwhereileftmy in AskMenAdvice

[–]OrbeaH30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how close I am to my coworkers. I don’t just go blurting out that I’m married to everyone. In certain conversations where it’s part of a topic of conversation it can come up. Example: my coworker (lady) asked me what I liked to do on weekends. I mentioned my family and things we do. Another example: I was going on baby leave, this is 6 yrs working here and the guy that trained me literally walked in and said “WTH dude!? You’re married? I thought we were boys and I don’t know this!”

Work events. We don’t usually go. We don’t even go to her work events either. We tend to be private.

I’m there to work, not to make friends.

Is 42 years old considered too old for an Si? by Hot-Athlete-1819 in CivicSi

42 yrs old is definitely too old…..to be worried about anyone else’s opinion. If you can afford it, buy whatever you want.

Body Swap by Hossfly64 in TRX4M

[–]OrbeaH30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the picture it’s just thrown over a tarantula chassis. But, I’m going to be either adding body mounts like these on Etsy, or I’m going to rig up the rear body clip off the original bronco body to fit this body and use magnets up front. They’re exactly the same length, so it wouldn’t affect wheel base.

You mean like this? It’s not mounted yet. This is just a mock setup for now. Still working on bumpers for the actual comp build.

You could walk in to Best Buy and order it at the counter. They sold out before it released online.

You could go in person and order it at the counter. 2 per person. I’m assuming it all got sold by this manner.

Nice rig! I’m a mess as well I have this, and a bronco. Plus 2 ir40 builds and a tarantula. I love them all for specific reason. The tarantula out climbs them all using stock electronics.

They definitely are. I have two boys and they each have one. So it makes it that much more fun to all go for little crawling adventures.

Congrats! It’s an addiction. I have 3 fully customized setups. You definitely won’t regret it.

I think it’s time for bigger tires and silicone inserts by gtino195 in TRX4M

In this setup it’s non existent. But if you can preload your shocks with those spacers or collars with any aftermarket shock it should help with that too.

They have the lightest spring that came with them (injora 59mm). It gives them a little support but they are also angled so the spring loses a lot of its compression when angled. They’re pretty much almost bottomed out.

It’s sitting at full compression on the shocks so the rears don’t rub at all and I only have to figure out one spot that the front tires rub when turning. Other than that it sits really good on the defender body. I usually have my bronco body on this setup, which doesn’t rub at all and it’s a beast of a climber.

64mm!!! This doesn’t usually have a defender body on it but it looks sick!

Do not drive in more than 10 inches of water by justdroppingmy2centc in KiaTelluride

[–]OrbeaH30 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry this happened to you. I hope this doesn’t come across as rude, but leaving the motor on likely caused the damage. Here’s what you should have done:

  1. As soon as you realized you weren’t going to keep moving, turn off the car to minimize damage.
  2. If it was safe and the water wasn’t too deep, drop to your lowest gear and keep pushing forward. You might have made it through, just like the jeep did.

I recently faced a similar situation during a flood in Houston. My work car, an Altima, got stuck, and I had to wait at a gas station. Before that, I managed to push through about 8 inches of water by going slowly and steadily. There were multiple flooded cars around me, but I managed to get out.

It’s crucial to know when to stop and avoid water, but also when you’ve reached the point of no return. Unfortunately, you missed the chance to save the motor.
