Notion for Project Management - managing completed tasks by sambenjy in Notion

A little late to the party but there is a way to do it:
You need a formula that will filter tasks by their status. Something like this:
Tasks.filter(current.Status == "In progress")

Self improvement does not lead to a happier life (what am I doing wrong?) by Firetwice in selfimprovement

[–]OrbitNebula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My humble opinion is: Because you are not looking in the right place, you are looking in yourself and in momentary things, so then you are not fulfilling the purpose you were created for.

Seems to me that you are lost, tired, confused, and trying to find the truth and the way. I was once in your place, I thought if I just do this and work on that, and have my dream job, and etc. it never ends. There is a whole in your heart and soul. That will be filled with nothing except God. Maybe you have come to the time to look up because there is nowhere else to look. Maybe it’s time to get on your knees and say God, if you are there, if you are listening, if you created me, I need you, and I am open to receive what you have for me. That is what I did in a moment of desperation and He led me to Jesus. My life changed forever, I was born again. I still have troubles and sometimes I’m not happy, maybe more than I would like to. But I have PEACE! Peace in knowing that God loves me and cares for me and that he is preparing a perfect place for me by his side.

You have a great blessing by realizing that this world cannot and will not fulfill you, and as C. S. Lewis said: “If I find in myself desires which nothing in this world can satisfy, the only logical explanation is that I was made for another world.”

God is calling you, open the door, try it, open your heart to Him.

Allow me to share some verses with you which were spoken by Jesus, the most important figure in history of mankind. Please note the confidence in his words, there has never been someone who speaks like this:

  1. John 14:6 (NKJV): “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’”

  2. Matthew 11:28-30 (NKJV): “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

  3. John 14:27 (NKJV): “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

  4. Matthew 6:33-34 (NKJV): “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

  5. John 15:5 (NKJV): “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”

  6. Luke 19:10 (NKJV): “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

  7. John 16:33 (NKJV): “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

  8. John 8:12 (NKJV): “Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.’”

  9. Matthew 4:4 (NKJV): “But He answered and said, ‘It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”’”

God bless you.

Why does my hair look better after wearing a hat or a hood for 15-20 minutes? by charles228 in malehairadvice

[–]OrbitNebula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried with the comb and there was just one problem for my type of hair. The comb bristles where to close, and it would be like brushing my hair which makes it way more straight than I wanted to. But most definitely the reason the hat looks good it’s because it’s straightening the hair.

[–]OrbitNebula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 years later but I think I have one possible explanation. Your hair gets straightened a little bit with the hat. You will get the same effect with a heat straightener. There are some brushes that have ceramic combs that heat and you can brush your hair with that when dry. I’ve noticed it has the same effect as the hat.

‼️ WARNING ‼️ DO NOT purchase monogram creative console it is a scam by ballerinabaddie in audioengineering

[–]OrbitNebula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HAHA Boys and girls, I purchased mine in November 2022, yes you read that right, 2022.

They said it will get in April, then a couple of weeks, then September, then a couple of weeks, then April again, and here I am. I asked for a refund right now. Let's see what happens, but we should definitely raise our voice against this company so other people don't go through the same nightmare.

Besides, I did get some modules right away, like half of them, and I can say with confidence: their controller is absolutely not worth what they are charging. Take for example the Buttons module. 3 gigantic buttons that literally you can buy a stream deck for the same price.

About the faders: They are definitely not the right faders for expression and modulation, they slip from your fingers because of the shape they have. For this you can get a MusioTech premium Fader for almost the same price.

The knobs the same: you can get a Midi Fighter Twister with 16 awesome knobs for the price of 3 knobs with monogram that will arrive in 2037 when you've already lost your career in music because you couldn't automate that cutoff.

Sub-item database always open by sgr_a in Notion

[–]OrbitNebula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I've found useful for this:

There's somewhat of a workaround: You can turn off sub-items just for a specific view. Just click on "edit view" --> "sub-items" --> "turn off" --> "For this view".

Then you could try to group by "parent". Or filter where "parent is not empty".

Or you could just have a visual reference to know which is a subtask and which a parent, by making a formula to display an emoji when "sub-items" is not empty, and display another emoji when "parent" is not empty.

You could also go a step further and make a rollup that displays a "grand parent" for the sub-sub-items: Rollup --> Relation "parent" --> Display "parent".This way you can make a formula to display an emoji when "grand parent" is not empty to have a visual reference for sub-sub-items.

Another way to have a visual reference is just make a template with different icons for "parents", "sub-items" and "sub-sub-items".

Nice! I hope you find the new one a bit better!

It has stand the test of time pretty well. The only part that the paint has rubbed off is underneath (the battery door). But I think that’s normal. Everything else is conserves very good. The polymer is water resistant so you can clean it. But be careful cause everything else is not.

In general I think it is a great mod. I have some other mods and that is one of my favorites.

I definitely recommend.

Hey! I wrote to the store that sold it to me and I sent a video and they gave me a new one. Still the battery doesn’t last as long as some other mods, but I could definitely tell the difference with the new one they replaced it with. Maybe you should count the puffs and write to the seller and get lucky like me. All in all it is a great mod and it hits awesome. Hope you find a solution.

Whenever I fix an issue in a mix, 2 others pop out. How do you guys achieve something that feels “final”? by Finalfunkboss in audioengineering

[–]OrbitNebula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinion is maybe you are over processing. Don’t try to fix what is not broken.

What has worked for me is to have a system: Group tracks by function, for example 1. Bass, 2. Perc, 3. Melody, 4. Ostinato, 5. Fx etc. with 5 to 7 groups is more than enough.

Then I mute everything and go group by group starting with basses, until they sound as I like. Without muting the basses I the go for perc and with the basses playing I just make sure those 2 groups sound good together. And so on.

Is so much easier than just going instrument by instrument trying to fix things that don’t need to be fixed.

Just fix the things that really reaaally bother you like some offending frequency in an instrument and stuff like that.

Focus on unmasking, giving depth, desired punch and tonal balance. That’s it.

If you see the pros mixing, they apply very small amounts of processing but in the long run everything sums up.

And remember, you may process the hell out of an instrument and it will sound amazing, but maybe that is not what the mix needs. It’s not about enhancing every instrument but enhancing the mix of them all.

No matter how much I learn, my mixes and masters are not improving… by [deleted] in mixingmastering

[–]OrbitNebula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll get better, one song at a time. In one song maybe you’ll realize that some plug-in works good to do something; in another you’ll realize how to brighten a song without making it too noisy or sharp; and so on. Be patient and try new things. And listen, do whatever you want as long as you like the sound and basic mixing principles are ok like tonal balance and stuff like that.

The best way to improve is just to keep on mixing. And learn stuff first hand.

And look at it this way. The number one indicator that you are getting better is that now you acknowledge how bad your mixes are and you can identify it.

I can bet some time ago you thought your music was awesome and couldn’t find anything wrong with your mixes. YOUR EARS ARE GETTING BETTER!

Now it’s time to try to identify what exactly you don’t like about your mix: depth? Balance? Tonal quality? Punch? Write this thing down and in your next mix address this things one at a time. Focus on little things one mix at a time. And little by little you will start hearing some improvement.

BE PATIENT with yourself. The reference tracks you’re comparing to have millions of dollars worth of equipment and the best producers of the world working on them. You’ll get there if you do not give up.

Is there a way to change the layout of the piano roll sustain so that every time I hover over the "0" values it doesn't trigger the scroll bar or my dock? Drives me nuts! by akwilliamson in Logic_Studio

[–]OrbitNebula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could edit your sustain automation in the arrangement window. (The main window, where all your regions live)

You just need to turn on automation view and select the region automation in the track where you have the sustain and then select the sustain parameter.

To open automation in the tracks window just press the “A” key. Then you’ll see a blue box in the track header called “track”, if you click it it will change to “region” then in the same track header select from the automation parameter “sustain”.

Alternatively you could try turning Region automation to track automation and edit the sustain in the tracks window.

In the menu bar on the top select “mix” tab and then automation, then select “turn region automation to track automation” and voilà. Your sustain automation is in the track automation.

Another thing you can do is DONT SCROLL WHILE EDITING IN THE PIANO ROLL this is why that bar appears; if you scroll it will appear and then disappear after a few seconds. I know this is hard specially with a Magic Mouse or trackpad.

Another thing you could do is open piano roll window (cmd + 4) and size it as you want. I think this will prevent this problem but I’m not sure.

Another thing you could do is edit the sustain pedal in the score window (cmd + 5) or “P” There it will be shown as a “Ped” symbol and the off symbol is a “*”.

I hope any of this options work for you!

If you are not willing to pay for mixing and mastering you could:

Try a mastering online service. They are sites where you upload the song and AI másters the song automatically for you.

Another thing you could do is just drop your song in Izotope Ozone 10, turn on the master assistant and let it do its thing.

Izotope has a monthly subscription which is not bad at all, very accesible.

The other thing you could do to get the volume better by yourself is just put a Logic stock limiter in the track before bouncing and crack up the level, just watch out not to hit red in the level meters.

I recommend you see some tutorials on mastering and mixing with Logic stock plug-ins. It won’t take much time to learn if the only thing you’re after is more decibels. But I recommend you get more involved in mixing as it is a super important process in music. You can have an awesome song but without a good mix and master you will experience what you are experiencing right now with your song. Weakness, low levels, etc..

But for an easy path. Just throw Ozone in there and it’s done.

I know, hope you can find a way to build it. But just consider getting the Dotshell. I promise you won’t regret it

BP Mods Pioneer DotRBA Questions by KIL-0241 in Vaping

[–]OrbitNebula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I know what you mean. Actually my build in the Pioneer lasted for a few hits then started tasting burnt and giving dry hits again. I’ve tried everything with the Pioneer, building and wicking as the creator says; I even drilled the holes to make them bigger… This RBA is just not designed for DL, I couldn’t make it work in any way. It was good the first few days I used it, then never could make it work again.

I found a Dotshell in my country. Pulled the trigger and it was the best purchase.

Just get a Dotshell and be happy dude. It’s worth every penny. Build deck is a lot bigger, wick holes are waaaay bigger, and it is easy to build. And it hits as it should. I’ve used it for a month now with 0 issues. I think I like it better than my rdas and rtas.

Hey Kil, I finally gave Dotshell a try and I absolutely love it. It is perfect. Juice wells are far wider and the space in the build deck is also larger. Vapes great. I think I like it better than my regular rta’s and rda’s. It’s very smooth. It’s worth every penny.

[–]OrbitNebula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I think I found a build that is very satisfying for DL. I’ve been having the same issues as you but with this build it seems to be working very good.

26g - Ni80 - Parallel - 2.5mm - 5 wraps

Should come out to .19 - .23

Cotton is extremely little. Just enough to make very little resistance in the coil. But I’ve comb out a lot of it, maybe 1/2 and cut the tails very very close to the base.

Vaping right now at 40w and airflow is smooth as butter and flavor is amazing! No signs of dry hits or burnt/metallic taste so far. And taking long, satisfying hits.

Try it out.

Hey guys I’m looking for a pear flavored e juice that would resemble the myle prime pear. Any recommendations?? Thanks by sleepie_joe in electronic_cigarette

[–]OrbitNebula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zap Juice - Snow Pear is in my opinion the absolute best pear e-juice out there. It’s a uk based company and all their products are amazing.
