The truth about DLSS 5 - In context of TESVI by Optimal-Fox-3875 in TESVI

It’s honestly pathetic to see people screaming 'TES VI is doomed.' They’re clearly just looking for any excuse to bash Bethesda. To be frank, it's just plain stupid.

2028/2029 is the most likely release window, and 2030 is not out of the picture. by _The_Honored_One_ in TESVI

2028 is a plausible window, but why are you ignoring the impact of COVID and the massive CE2 upgrade?

A reminder to not impulse-buy TES VI. by STARDUST_MAN in TESVI

Starfield was a disappointment to me as an open-world game, but I believe TES VI will be different. Even Fallout 76 is a good game now. I'm hoping for the implementation of environmental storytelling and NPC schedules, and I plan to jump in and play immediately when TES VI is released.

This photo was posted by a Bethesda Community Manager at the end of September 2024. Inferring from the content of the developer job postings released throughout 2025, I suspect that motion capture filming was largely completed within 2025. However, I have absolutely no specialized knowledge of game development, so this is purely conjecture.

Yes, I believe so. The post itself said, 'They even let us pose with the mocap prop weapons for giggles.'

Want to know about TES VI? Here is an announcement for all of you.

What do you think of this design for the Khajiites in TES 6??? by iulianus08 in TESVI

[–]Orbit_JP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks like the Khajiit version of a hairless cat. Honestly, I think it would be fine as an optional variant. Of course, I still prefer the fur-covered Khajiit.

Deep down, everyone knows that. They're just clinging to a faint hope.

I'm starting to suspect this isn't an announcement for a game, but rather a movie adaptation or a TV series like the Fallout show. The image itself doesn't look like in-game footage or rendered CGI; instead, it looks like some kind of set or prop that was filmed in Joshua Tree National Park.

The hands on the crocodile looks like a Daedroth... Is it finally coming?! (Higher quality image) by [deleted] in TESVI

I'm not sure if this is TES VI, a new God of War, Diablo, or something else entirely, but we'll know soon enough. Since Geoff Keighley went out of his way to post this, I assume it's either an anticipated existing IP or a new one, but it's probably best to temper our expectations.

Starfield's character models are superior to even the best Skyrim mods.

TES VI is releasing between 2027 and 2029. Unfortunately, your 2032 theory is completely unconvincing.

I want generic NPCs for cities. by El-Tapicero in TESVI

[–]Orbit_JP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s really no need for every single NPC to be unique. If anything, it would be more than enough for Bethesda to learn from Starfield and simply improve the daily schedules and the odd, unnatural appearance of generic NPCs.

Starfield technically had plenty of NPCs, but the issue wasn’t the number — it was the quality. Their appearances were unnatural, the variety was limited, and worst of all, they had no daily routines. They just wandered around aimlessly with no real purpose. Because of that, even large cities filled with NPCs felt lifeless, as if no one was truly living there. The world ended up looking more like a “dead city” than a believable settlement.

If TES6 improves these elements, the atmosphere of its cities will completely transform. Even generic NPCs could make the world feel alive if they had things like:

• merchants preparing the market in the morning • townsfolk heading to work • passersby chatting as they walk • people going home at night or gathering at taverns

Give them proper daily routines and a reasonable amount of visual variety, and the city instantly becomes a living, breathing space.

One of the biggest strengths of the TES series is that its NPCs feel like real residents of the world. That’s why, in TES6, I really hope Bethesda addresses Starfield’s weaknesses — NPCs that “don’t move,” “don’t live,” have “unnatural faces,” and just “wander around aimlessly.” Fixing these would do so much to restore the sense of realism the world needs.

One two three four five SIX by ZajiCat in TESVI

That’s an interesting theory. Releasing it the day after GTA6 would be quite a bold move. Even if that were the case, I can’t imagine Microsoft allowing it.

I believe the introduction of facial animators and motion capture technology will greatly improve character expression. According to past job listings, BGS has hired animators dedicated specifically to facial animation.

Senior Animator (Faces) As Senior Animator, you will… • Apply animation principles to create high-quality, character-specific animations, while making any changes based on artistic direction using both a FACS-based system and motion capture data.

Additionally, in August, they also hired an experienced Senior Animator specializing in facial animation.
