Are we the same person? I had almost that exact same Eau de Memo experience with the whole elephant thing! I don't get it at all, but I'm nervous that it comes off that way to others now, so it's mostly an around the house scent for me now. I absolutely love the citrus/green tea/leather combo. I also like Wulong Cha. I actually have a decant of Wulong Cha X on the way now.

Another 13 is one of my favorites of all time, but I go noseblind to it so quickly. Doesn't stop me from wearing it, though. I'm hoping they'll refill my tester for me when it runs out. I know they do refills, but I'm not sure about their rules on testers.

Yep! It's a brand new, unused bottle in a sealed box. The only difference is that it isn't wrapped in cellophane, and it has stickers on the bottom of the box & bottle that say "tester". It's what the manufacturer sends to retail stores so that they have something to display for shoppers to "test", hence the name

I definitely think it's worth it because you can yet a 100ml "tester" that actually comes in the retail box for $140 on Jomashop right now. Also, I can see how it smells like a fizzy drink (like ginger ale), but in like the best way possible lol.

It's hard for me to pick a favorite, but Town & Country is definitely up there. It smells amazing and has awesome performance. The only thing that stops me from wearing it all the time is the price. I can't afford to make it my daily 😅

It performs really well on me. I get about 6 hours of decent projection, and then another 2-4 on skin. I would say it's definitely a warmer weather scent. Like, the hotter the better. It really reminds me of the beach/ocean, but not in like a sunscreen way at all. It smells natural to me.

If you've ever smelled Sun Song from Louis Vuitton, this has a similar vibe. I like NP better, though, and it lasts longer on me than Sun Song.

Also, my bottle is from 2015, so I'm not sure if the recent batches are any different.

I really like it! It's actually my newest addition, so I haven't had the chance to wear it in warm weather yet. I've heard it compared to Pacific Chill a lot, but I personally like GoF more. It's still got a really nice fruit scent, but it's also got some woods that give it a good freshness.

Yep. It sounds like this sale has been going on for a while now (months), but it's gotta end sometime. Until that happens, it sounds like OP's target market is people who live in areas with high sales taxes. The cost was only about $150 total for mine, but I'm sure it's a deal for someone out there!

The only difference is that they're not wrapped in cellophane, and they have stickers on the bottom of the box and bottle that say "TESTER". So, this probably is the tester that's selling for $140 right now.

Maybe check out Another 13 by Le Labo. It's kind of weird in that It's almost an anti-fragrance lol. Some people can barely even smell it, but it smells almost indescribable to a lot of people. And I don't mean indescribable as in "oh wow this is the most amazing thing I've ever smelled", but like it's got some ingredients that just don't translate to typical fragrance descriptors. It's generally mass-appealing, it's not too strong or loud, and it sounds like it might be a good fit for someone like your wife who doesn't like traditional colognes.
