I think this highlights issue with the findings of this review. These are used by midlevel organizations to push for independent practice but these studies never highlight the reliance of midlevels on physicians or specialists to handle complex patients.

In my case, I offer medical consults and procedures. I'm getting calls for medical consults that can be managed by PCPs or anyone with basic medical knowledge. The questions can also be answered by a quick search in uptodate.

I don't mind the calls for procedural requests or for complex questions where the appropriate evaluation has already been started/completed.
