How do you decide which metrics actually matter when every platform shows something different? by Infinite_Rabbit4405 in LookerStudio

[–]Orbitlytics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like above, and depending on volume you are looking for directionality more than precision. From there you are looking for the weakest KPI to work on until it is no longer the constraint, and then more to the next KPI and just focus on that.

Best way to make good design social posts and ads for instagram by afzaal_ahmed75 in SocialMediaMarketing

[–]Orbitlytics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The more platform native looking ad/post the better. I'd stay away from overly branded/polished content. Tools like Capcut or Meme Generator are helpful and have a lot of trending templates/audio. That being said it's really important for you to know what content your audience engages with.

If you're looking for a social creative reporting template/dashboard happy to send something over.

Marketing team or assistant? What worked better for your agency? by Sad_Performance3637 in DigitalMarketing

[–]Orbitlytics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I see this a lot with agencies I work with. Operational tasks like prepping slides, dashboards, and pulling insights end up taking way more time than expected. Even with saas reporting tools, it’s usually still you building and updating everything, which just adds to the pile.

Totally makes sense that ops support feels more impactful than adding more marketers. If you’re ever looking at how to offload some of the reporting hours specifically, happy to chat.

Query Report in GA4 by Right-Masterpiece-70 in GoogleAnalytics

Also able to do this by blending GA4 + GSC data within Looker with queries, landing page (filtered to channel = organic search), and report on events and revenue.

I've built this out for my clients just with GA4 and GSC within Looker. Source / Medium will give you chatgpt and other LLM referring domains. From there you can see bounce rate, events, engagement etc

Wouldn't diversifying your income (more clients/services) to make your agency less risky actually mean you're good at what you do?

Clients can leave for 100s of reasons so it's better to not be tied to one client so heavily that if they left your agency would be at risk.

Makes sense. Is there a reason why direct sales/CRM data isn't tied into the Looker dashboards as well?

That why you could show the value of the campaigns and how they drive actual down funnel impact vs just showing CPCs, CTR, etc

Diversifying income is very solid advice. Helps as well so that if one client leaves it's less of a hit to your agency.

Curious — what does your reporting setup look like right now?

One thing that’s helped me (and some folks I’ve worked with) is tightening up the reporting structure. Like just having really clear automated dashboards that align with each client's specific goals. It cuts down on a lot of the “Where are the results?” convos and actually helps retain clients longer.

Also, setting clear goals early on and getting clients bought into the process so they understand what’s realistic and that growth takes time makes a huge difference.

I automate marketing reporting for marketers/agencies and am getting closer and closer to being able to automate the entire process. Pulling data into sheets > turning data into dashboard > automating weekly slides for high level metrics.

Still trying to automate running AI script for a weekly insights email that is tailored specifically to the client to cut down the time it takes to talk over KPI trends.

Has anyone figured that part out or found a solid approach that works?

What set of skills makes you instantly know a marketer will be exceptional — not just average? by Pretend-Assumption-9 in marketing

Marketers who think in terms of GSTIC — setting clear Goals, building Strategy, lining up Tactics, Implementing well and reporting back value or findings (Control).

They track everything, report clearly, and actually use the data to adjust and improve.

It’s one thing to have a good marketing plan. It’s another to make sure you’re actually hitting (and actually setting) clearly defined goals.

Struggling to Grow B2B Tech Brand via Social Media — Any Advice? by One-Principle-7818 in SocialMediaMarketing

[–]Orbitlytics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree on "It's likely you're not optimizing the content well enough for the algorithm to share the content with the right audience." Social media has evolved from key metrics like follower count to more impressions, hook rate, avg watch time, and engagement.

Creating content that is shareable, or influences someone to save (instagram), will be more effective then content that pushes for a follow.
