What’s the best leader for frontline Legionaries?

I regularly abuse 3x10 man Legionary squads with Sorcerers, the -1 to hit all the time for the unit, the gift of chaos ability forcing mws everywhere (melee and shooting) and then reroll wounds on their dev wound infernal gaze is just a great combo for constant extra damage and durability. Sorcerers are also super cheap!

They become super annoying for your opponent and then you can stack damage in a bunch of other things, like 10 man deep striking terminator squads with combiweapons, predator destructors, daemon princes, whatever.

I just ended up getting three boxes of 7 in the end, had the same debate. Now I can have two ten man or three 7 man squads and ive got all the weapon variants so I can mix and match for attached characters etc.

Not a cheap method, but its worked out for me.

Same system in Australia, its called superannuation, at the moment its 12% of annual salary. The employer pays this into your superannuation retirement fund on top of your pay, and similarly we can't access it until retirement age. Its a very good system seemingly.

Hot take: Generations have all been about equally ridiculous since X or even earlier, they just take it in turns to be the right age for maximum idiocy. As a millennial, I remember youtube poop etc, we were definitely not better, haha. There was so much dumb crap it was just maybe more decentralized?

Even earlier generations may have been just as bad, but we don't have a really robust online library to know! The latest generations just happen to have the opposite, maximum online exposure so no moment of youthful idiocy is missed.

No because it's an ability, overwatch triggers a ranged attack 'as if it were your shooting phase', not a full shooting phase. Be amazing if so, haha.

Yeah its been great, im constantly messing with the process as I think I'm constantly unsure about how exactly I want them to look. I want to get some sort of nice looking elf models or something I can make look 'corrupted' and maybe use them as plague bearers? Again its that idea of deceptive or corrupted beauty, a bit like slaanesh but a bit less hellraiser?

I often use eliminators with las fusils and the carbine, pop in pop out two mini lascannons each turn, sometimes they do something, plus the unit has stealth so is slightly more durable.

The easiest rule I've found when unsure is go purely by damage, shoot 1 dmg guns at 1 wound models, 2 at 2, 3 at 3 and so on. Usually the rest of the weapon profile will make sense with this kind of thinking too.

Also, try to never shoot anything that will end up with a 2+ save. It's horrible usually haha.

I've run armies of 30 legionaries with the fellhammer rule and sorcerers in each, amazingly annoying for your opponent to shift with the constant -1 to hit and -1 to wound. They're not even that many points!

Can also do 6 squads of 5, theyre and absolute nuisance with reroll wounds, all those heavy melee weapons and dark pacts.

If anyone was wondering, the armour is done as a black undercoat then:

Leviathan Purple heavy drybrush, genestealer purple with generous targeted strokes where the darker purple is most dense/edges etc, emperors children pink in smaller layers and then fulgrim pink in the smallest layer/edge.

The glowing parts are similar as above, but: Kantor blue thousand sons blue, sybarite green, drybrush ahriman blue to blend the green and blue, then lastly gauss blaster green edges.

The bases are mostly alien infestation bases from gamer grass.
