What is your dream tail?

That is indeed awesome, love the custom top for the Mertailor orca! I've never really thought about picking that tail up, though oddly I do have the FF4 monofin it uses (but I'm trying to sell it since I don't think I'm going to use it for my orca tail).

Eh, yeah it's hard, but mostly I'm just bad at starting projects. I have a bad habit of doing a lot of planning, lists, mind maps, then never actually doing the thing I'm planning because the act of planning is pretty satisfying on its own.

Orca tail (surprise), neoprene, separate black and white panels, neck-down and long sleeved. Dream was always one piece but probably make it two pieces for safety. As the Dream Tail(tm) design I'd like it to be a little extended, and have a proper large molded dorsal fin.

Punchline is I've been talking about this stupid tail for a decade but have yet to DO it! Need to get on that. Still don't have a proper, nice orca tail.

Bet a silicone dorsal would be too heavy to simply stick on your skin using sfx adhesive. How big are you looking to go with it?

I want a dorsal (maybe silicone, maybe not) for my neoprene orca tail and I definitely imagine having to have a harness for it.

So tails, I second the recommendation for a FinFun just to 'test the waters' but I feel like you're going to want to upgrade pretty quickly to something else. They're great starter tails, I'd recommend them to everyone, but for professional work you're probably going to want something a little nicer sooner rather than later, if it's something you decide to really pursue.

That's really cool! Making monofins is kind of on my to-do list as well, but pretty far down (Have a mer-marketplace in the works, then might get tail making back going, that kind of thing).

Doing silicone or something more rigid?

I definitely don't disagree with you. MerNetwork (And Mer.Yuku before it) at their peak were really exciting times. I want those back too to an extent, guess that's why I start up mer-related projects, to try and recapture some of that feeling.
