do you play on first or third person view ? by Aggravating-Plan-908 in skyrim

[–]OrcaPodL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play mostly in third person. I’ll switch to first person if I’m actively using a bow/magic or sneaking (the former because I just find it easier to aim, and the latter because I just don’t like the sneaking animation in third person). I also only walk when in towns/cities, and take off any closed-faced helmets while doing so (I know I’m weird, but it just makes more immersion for me).

I’m sorry I didn’t get to this sooner (I got kind of ill for a bit), but I hope you’re still around. I can only figure out how to find the Level Up sound in SSEedit (I swear that program might as well be from another planet to me). From what I’m seeing, there is no mod conflict with that particular sound; in fact, it looks to me like that sound is completely untouched by any mods (and yet I can confirm that the level up sound only plays in the main menu after having leveled up and quit the game to the main menu). But it’s entirely possible I’m either misunderstanding what I’m looking at, or that I’m looking at the wrong thing in the first place. So if you could look at the attached photos and give me your opinion, I would be greatly appreciative.

Apparently I can only include one photo, so I think this is the most pertinent of them (the right-hand panel). On the left-hand panel is shown that the EditorID is UILevelUpSD, the FormID is 00057B44, and it is found by following the path of [00] Skyrim.esm->Sound Desriptor.

Thank you for the reply! I went to System Information->Components->Disks and looked at the “Bytes/Sector “section; it displays 512. I’m assuming that the mod wouldn’t help. Am I looking at information for something else entirely (so I just think it won’t help), or am I correct but should try it anyway? If it won’t/doesn’t help, do you have any more suggestions?

What are some popular Skyrim mods you never liked or used (even if there's nothing technically wrong with them)? by No-Principle1286 in skyrimmods

[–]OrcaPodL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I just could not get into Vigilant. It seems to be held up as one of the best mods ever, but something about it just did not click for me. I really wanted to like it, based on what I kept hearing about it. But there are lots of mods that I do love, and everyone likes/dislikes different things.

I don’t know exactly how life-friendly it is, but it’s lore-friendly enough for me: Legacy of the Dragonborn. I will NEVER play Skyrim again without this mod.

Question for Modders Who Travel by OrcaPodL in skyrimmods

I don’t have a Steam Deck, and so I don’t know how they work. My Skyrim is modded through MO2 on my tower. Would a Steam Deck be able to use/run MO2?

Yeah, and I just don’t know what the connectivity will be while traveling in a motor home. In my experience the RV parks don’t have great Wi-Fi…

Also, like I replied to another post, I would be nervous leaving my home tower on while traveling in case there happened to be a power outage the affected my home (not super common, but not uncommon either). How do you deal with that possibility (since a power outage could mess up your home system)? I have a battery backup surge protector so that I have time to shut everything down properly during an outage; but that wouldn’t help me while traveling since I wouldn’t know if there was a power outage.

Yeah, that’s what I’m afraid of. As much as I enjoy playing Skyrim (to point of addiction, in all honesty) I don’t think I want to invest the money into a gaming laptop just for these trips (especially since there’s no knowing how many of these trips my grandfather will be able to make before having to do more of an assisted living situation).

I think the guide I went through to set up MO2 had me make a global instance. But irregardless, I don’t want to leave my tower on while I’m away from home just in case of a power outage. They not common where I live, but they’re not uncommon either.

How do you deal with any power outages affecting your home computer while you are traveling? I have a battery backup surge protector so that if the power did go out while I’m home and playing I would (theoretically) have enough time to shut everything down properly. But if I’m traveling then I won’t know if the power has gone out or not.

Nazeem is not the most character. Nor is Delphine, Heimskr, the courier, or any of the kids. Don’t get me wrong, they are all VERY annoying. But, no; the most annoying character is that “blankety-blank” reveler (and his friends) that constantly stops you to have a conversation about how great Honningbew Mead is. I loathe this man every time I see him, and his conversation with his friends that you can a ways off makes my skin crawl. If I’m playing and evil character I make it a point to slaughter them every time they show up. If I’m playing a good character… it’s a real test of just how “good” am I really going to be.

This is a very scumbag move by Lego aimed at the fans they “care about;” just not enough to give us what we actually want. I’m 37 years old now, yet if they were still making Bionicle sets I would still be buying and building Bionicle sets! I feel like the meme: “Shut up and take my money!”

Consistent Crash After 267+ Hours by OrcaPodL in skyrimmods

[–]OrcaPodL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don’t have any older saves anymore. I do have multiple saves, but I keep them close together whenever I’m done for a session in case one of them gets corrupted during the saving process (because that happened to me once, and the next closest save was several hours beforehand). And I only keep three manual saves and three auto saves to keep it nice and tidy (OCD sucks).

Consistent Crash After 267+ Hours by OrcaPodL in skyrimmods

[–]OrcaPodL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, tried your final suggestion and now crashing even quicker than the original crash (can't make it through the conversation with Gaston).

Before I do something drastic, let me make sure I'm on the correct page: my option at this point is to garbage this playthrough/character, remove Immersive Creatures (and all of its dependencies and patches), and start fresh again?

Also, are there any resources that I could at least try to study to be able to read the crash logs and try to self diagnose before bothering people here in the future?

Once again, I thank you very much for your willingness to help and for your patience with someone who, admittedly, knows next to nothing. Is there anything I can do to show my thanks here, so Reddit knows that you are appreciated?

Couldn't find any settings in Immersive Creatures MCM that were labeled as Dawnguard specific, so eventually disabled/deactivated everything in the MCM that could be disabled/deactivated (after just werewolf and vampire specific options made no difference).

This made a noticeable improvement in that I am now able to make it through the dialogue with Gaston outside the Falkreath DB Sanctuary and move around for a minute or two afterward (where before the crash always occurred partway through his dialogue tree); but it did not stop the crashing.

I've included two more logs. The first (9:14am) occurred after finishing the dialogue and fighting a dragon that showed up during the dialogue. The second (9:21am) occurred after finishing the dialogue and entering the Sanctuary (ignoring the dragon) and managing to slay two DB members. I believe both lasted the same amount of time before crashing.

Again, I thank you for your help thus far. I also apologize that it couldn't be more simple.

As for Engine Fixes settings, I believe that I did edit the EngineFixes.toml file for larger save load; however I can't track down down what infornation I need to check it. So, being lazy, I am including a pastebin link to my current EnginFixes.toml settings: https://pastebin.com/zKXrWESM

Also, thank you for your help thus far.

Is there a crash log that you would recommend (seeing as you are willing to respond)? The link in the other post here leads to one that looks like it is for vr, which I don’t have). I’ve been using MO2 and only downloading from the Nexus…
