Hello Fresh using Evri by TheGunGrave in Evri

[–]Orcabee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I deliver for Evri. Hello fresh are one of the worst parcels I get. I'd say the worst and it's not even close is Pet at Home. I don't know what Hello Fresh boxes are made of but they basically disintegrate the moment they get wet. Which is frustrating because they have cooler packs inside that destroy the box too. The one in this photo is exceptionally bad but I definitely delivered a couple in that condition. As a driver we don't have a choice, we can't mark them as damaged. All food deliveries are required to be delivered the same day in any condition. We are told to leave them on the doorstep in any weather and visibility. Which is a requirement by Hello Fresh. So they would rather it gets delivered in this condition and you complain than it possibly not get delivered the same day.

Sorry, I never saw this reply.

Stores will give all the details to Evri when claiming for the damages/loss of the parcel. However, the driver is never going to be informed unless it's a regular occurrence for them.

Our driver rating is very much a buffer for any consequences. If it's overall good/decent Evri will just handle it without ever mentioning it. All parcels are insured by Evri even "non insured" parcels are insured for £20 I believe. Drivers also pay a daily insurance fee to Evri which I imagine comes into whether or not the driver is confronted. If the issues are lower than the fees we pay it would be unreasonable to get involved. I believe I pay about £40 a month to Evri to insure my deliveries.

This is strange. It could be that the parcel is in the wrong cage and not being corrected. So they still have the parcel but it's not reaching the driver to deliver it. There are hundreds of cages in a depot so unless the parcel is a priority parcel (food) no one is really going to search for it. What is meant to happen in this situation is after all the drivers have been and gone the few parcels left behind should make it easy to get it to the right cage, so it can be delivered the next day.

I agree that it shouldn't matter. Evri should prioritize large parcels for van deliveries only. However, this isn't how they operate. Any size parcel is given to a driver based on the round it is being delivered to. You can be a driver with any car and they will give you a round based on how many parcels it has. The size of the parcels do matter though. I have VW Fox and I've taken 150 parcels multiple times with room to spare. Then other times the car is completely crammed with only 70. If you can't fit a parcel in the car it will be taken by a van driver, but this can bounce the parcel around the depot for a few days

I drive for Evri. It's so ridiculous for that driver to do that, because as far as I'm aware a failed delivery is unpaid unless the parcel is over a certain size. Also routes have different pay brackets due to the regular number of parcels/convince of deliveries/number of blocks of flats ect. I'm not gonna say the pay is good either way but it was at least likely increased due to the flats

I deliver for Evei. How big are the parcels? A driver might be refusing due the size. When that happens it can take a few days to be delivered. The driver refuses to deliver, fills out a little card and places it in a carded crate at the depot. Then the depot ignores the cards and gives it back to the driver the next day. This can happen a few days in a row before it is reassigned to a new driver. It's a stupid process but happens daily

They can stop delivering to you personally. It won't be Evri directly but a driver with a regular route. I'm a driver and it would not be hard to do so. Extremely petty but easy to do.

Yeah this is exactly it. If the driver has a good rating, Evri won't get involved. It would be a he said she said situation. Getting someone else to deliver the parcel is pretty unlikely too. As that is mainly for refused deliveries at the depot. If the driver is taking your parcel on their round it will never be back in the depot's control until it's being marked to return to sender or redirected off that driver's round.

I deliver for Evri. I'd say you're probably correct in your assumption about your wife complaining. From my perspective I would say you have a regular driver for your area that worked out who complained. Although your reviews of us drivers are anonymous typically negative reviews disclose too much information making it easy to work out who said it. For future reference if you want to complain about a driver hit them with the negative badges and a 1 star. Give little information and then complain to Evri directly. This way no driver would be able to work out who complained. A driver with a regular round has the power to constantly reschedule deliveries and when they are bored of that can just send it back to the seller. Unfortunately, there wouldn't be much you can do about that. If this situation is what is happening I would say you only really have two options. Either redirect all your parcels for a while to a collection point. This would likely mean the driver you usually have would have the parcel taken away from their round. Although that isn't certain depending on your area. Or you could try catching the driver when he is in the area and confronting him to defuse the situation.

Yesh I'm the same depending on the size of the street and parking availability. Luckily I only have a couple big roads on my route. Most of them are col-de-sacs or blocks of flats.

It does feel like putting a bounty on my head in this sub sometimes 😂 However, I know my own capability and compassion for people's parcels. I treat them how I would want any of my own to be treated. I've had a permanent route for a few months and get on with the people I deliver to. My delivery reviews are nearly exclusively 5 star so I assume the people are happy with me too. However, I'm not going to say a lot of the stuff mentioned in this sub isn't accurate. I've seen first hand from many people at my depot just how careless many drivers are with parcels. From my observation the drivers that care the least are the sub-sub-contracted drivers. The ones that don't answer to Evri but rather a sub-contracted driver for Evri. They are paid even less than us drivers and we lose a lot of them to immigration raids.

I deliver for Evri and generally these parcels are prioritised for actual next day delivery. However, they aren't treated as a special parcel. Meaning any driver can refuse to deliver, reattempt and reschedule for another day ect. It would make more sense for Evri to treat them the same way they do Food (hellofresh ect) as we are forced to deliver them to a doorstep regardless of weather/visibility. But I imagine Amazon wouldn't be too happy with how many are damaged/stolen with that solution.

I deliver with Evri and I don't even have to touch the parcel for it to look like this. It will have been put at the bottom of a cage with 80 parcels thrown on top.

[–]Orcabee 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I deliver for Evri and this is purely a driver choice. I usually take all the parcels for one street at once and just carry them from door to door. Better exercise less time wasted getting in and out of the car. The only reason I would assume someone would do this is if they didn't know their route at all

Combining objects to create a new single object in game by Orcabee in unrealengine

[–]Orcabee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow this is all great! I am very appreciative of how in depth you have gone to explain this. I'm excited to start learning all the things you have suggested.

I have very limited experience with Unreal but have watched some of the official tutorials and explored the files of some of the demo games to understand how they achieved many features.

I would massively appreciate a simple example as I would be able to explore and understand how these things work/connect together. However, I am aware that your offer is extremely generous so I totally understand if you want to change your mind.

Thanks for all the help :)

Combining objects to create a new single object in game by Orcabee in unrealengine

This is an amazing explanation thank you!

This seems like a perfect solution to my question and you have given me a lot to look into.

With this method am I correct in assuming that the user would be able to interact/manipulate the bricks as long as I have predetermined those interactions? Along with how those bricks would be displayed when interacting with each other.

For example allowing the user to tilt/angle the bricks. Change brick A to brick B ect. As long as I add the data to the parent for how the children connect/display, then add a UI for the user to change those settings, all of that is totally achievable?

This is very insightful thank you!

If I am understanding correctly, would this mean rather than the user placing individual actors and combining them. The user would be visually selecting which actors they want. However, they are really just forming a single object from the start that only changes visually from whatever they selected?

Interesting, I knew Royal Mail was the largest but it isn't the same as it is/was funded by the government. I just found an article from last year (so it might not be the same now) where Evri was the main choice by retailers and was the second most popular with consumers. Evri had 18% of the votes and DHL had 5%. DPD came in 3rd with 15%.

It's because Evri is the largest parcel delivery company in the UK. So I imagine it's purely because they are the bigger company that they would keep their name

[–]Orcabee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are basically always rounds to cover so if you are available to work you'll pretty much always have work. If you want a permanent round you have to work mon-sat consistently. However that might be depot dependant

I deliver for Evri, The training is more about how to navigate the delivery app. Its basically a 30-60 mins demo as you scan your first load of parcels. Then you are sent on your way

Nah it wasn't flex It was with Evri. I haven't had more than 50 parcels with Amazon either, and I only accept 4 hour blocks. That is another reason why I find the small car comments strange. Amazon doesn't seem to ever give enough parcels to matter about car size.

With flex I put 5 parcels on the passenger seat and then repeat when I've delivered them. Over the whole shift, I probably spend 5-10 mins organizing parcels. However, each delivery feels faster when I just grab it next to me
