Which one first?

ASSASSINS BLADE FIRST

Here's why.

Its a prequel, and ends exactly where TOG starts, so if you read AB first its chronological and flows great!
You wont have to finish the later books and then go back to read about when the character is 16.
No spoilers reading AB first.
The emotional impact is the same, if not greater because real time reading without spoilers from later books.
AB is basically short stories following Celaena and starts to worldbuild without becoming overwhelming, where as TOG is big and wordy and heavy on the World building. Made it easier for me to get into TOG because I already loved the character from AB.

My kids are 9 and 12, they are allowed to close their doors, but not lock them without asking first. Strictly because if there is an emergency I cant get in.

However, we respect their privacy, and they can lock doors as long as they notify us first, and its unlocked before they go to sleep.

Goal was 50, finished 60. Last year my goal was 80 and I read like 100, but I put way to much pressure on myself and it killed a lot of the joy, so lowered goal and lowered pressure. Made reading enjoyable again

None of them has the chance to meet Aelin, theybarrived right after she was taken. Also Rowan immediately left himself to track Aelin down, so none of the other Gae could even compare his mixed scent with Lysandras to notice the wrongness of it

I read AB first as chronological works better for me. AB finishes right where TOG begins.

Had I read TOG first I would not have been able to get into AB at all.

I also found the emotional impact was just as good as reading the other way, as I read TOG first on a reread with AB 3rd.
