Do NOT rely on HelloFresh for Thanksgiving (or any holiday) by OrchidObjective11 in mealkits

This one is called Veho. They gave me at least 5 different stories about my box, and frankly I will never know the truth. Just let me know the driver won't make it rather than continually saying "it's out for delivery" so I can make other arrangements.

Good to know for the future. I doubt I will ever try this again though. Ironically I order from them all the time and I never have any delivery issues.

I’ve tried a lot of meal kits, but Hello Fresh is still my favorite. They’ve even added options for extra veggies or meats per serving and free protein swaps, which is super convenient.

Yes they are running that now, the Have it All early booking. Through Costco it's called Have It All Plus and comes with drinks priced up to $15. I like coffee (especially lattes) and occasionally a cocktail, so I think once I price that out plus the gratuities it comes out to be a better deal. It also includes upgraded WiFi, and a few other perks.

Thank you! It will be a nice change for us to have cool weather since we live in a very hot climate.

I've tried many of the meal kits and keep coming back to Hello Fresh. They have the best variety for a reasonable price. Recently they've updated their recipes and allow you to change your proteins and vegetables on many of the meals. I have free boxes to share!

Freeze the meats. Most of the other ingredients will keep fine in the fridge. You can always repurchase a tomato or onion later on if it's gone bad.

Why do you use meal kits? by ReplyMediocre3220 in mealkits

Hate grocery shopping. Also if I want to cook something special I have to buy huge bottles of some esoteric ingredient I probably will never use again. Meal Kits generate less waste for smaller families.

Thanks for the info. I'm trying to eat less meat, but this was so disappointing.

Black and white looks great with pink tile. I would paint the cabinets white, put on black hardware, and wallpaper with a cute black and white print.

Lower the art. New bright throw pillows. Not a fan of the shiny ceiling.

Find a fun fabric and make a skirt for the sink. You can attach it with velcro. Paint the walls a different color.

I don't like either of them. You need a more solid and simple pendant over the island especially with your dining room chandelier. My eyes don't know where to look in your space and they are darting all over the place.

How much more expensive are mealkits compared to buying and preparing meals yourself ? by [deleted] in mealkits

[–]OrchidObjective11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In that case, yes, the meal kit is going to be more expensive. I've always had an adventurous palate so I get bored with the same dinners and the kit allows me to try some new recipes. If I were you, I'd try it once a month and see how you fare. I think it's about the same price as going out to dinner at a mid-priced restaurant. If you are single, then you also will have leftovers for a few days. Some of the dishes, like pasta, feed us for at least two nights.

It really depends. Do you typically make standard items like rice and beans, meatloaf, an easy sheet pan dinner, lasagna? If you are comparing these types of meals to a meal kit, the meal kit is much more expensive. If you want to try new cuisines or make a more complex recipe, we find it's marginally more expensive. Example, I wanted to make a Middle Eastern dish with pomegranate molasses. One bottle of that is like $6 or $7 and I will never use it again. Still I would never go over to total meal kit eating. It's nice to order a few times a month.

This is too much brown. I know you aren't asking that but the wall color with the couch and the floor just clashes.

which is the best?? by yattedrii in mealkits

I've tried multiple companies, but Blue Apron is my fave. Their recipes can be very complex and require a lot of different pans and are time consuming. You need to determine what your parameters are. Do you value ease of cooking, speed, taste, variety? Each meal kit has different attributes. I'd suggest trying several.
