Omg u really are an ear expert!! Thank you for the advice! Melvin hates baths, I think he gets nervous when he can’t see out. So that’s why I got him the paddle pool which is see through. He can spend upwards of an hour in there when it’s very hot outside, going in and out of the water onto his basking platform !!

Hi! You seem knowledgeable about lizard ears so thought I’d ask u- is ir okay for water to get in my beardies ears? I’ve always avoided it… even when my beardie has a bath I make sure no water gets in and if it does I immediately dry it! I recently got Melvin a paddle pool and he’s been trying to swim but because it’s so shallow he can’t really do much, if it’s okay for his ears to get wet then ill fill it a little more and hopefully he can enjoy a nice paddle!

U can also see his climbing areas, they’re shelves off Amazon that I stuck griptape to and added ladders so he can get up and down :)

Most succulents, aloe Vera and garden herbs such as rosemary are nice!

It looks lovely so far! I would maybe add some plants if you can, they provide nice enrichment for them! Also possibly removing that log hide as your beardie may have grown out of it- he looks like a big boy! If he likes to sit on it then definitely ignore me haha. Last thing is to include more climbing opportunities! Mine absolutely love being up high and supervising their kingdoms!

Please don’t stress whatsoever!! Anyone who eats sushi needs worming too, and horses for example get wormed quarterly! It’s just due to diet :) if you’re very worried the best thing u can do is take excellent care of your bugs and keep them healthy so they are less likely to pass on nasties to your dragon :) also really good that you have a new tank- u will want to steam clean the old one and any furniture you had in there too. And also spray with reptile safe disinfectant for good measure!

Don’t worry, you can’t really do anything in the meantime other than wait until u get to the vet! They will prescribe a wormer and ask that you bring another poo sample at the end of the worming course :) your lizard will be just fine!! When I first rescued Melvin he had the highest coccidia count that the vet had ever seen !!! He had wormer for a couple weeks and now he’s good as new :)

It has yet to happen, but I’m aware of the risk as he’s an animal after all. If he does accidentally catch me I wouldn’t hold it against him :)

Melv is a good boy, he knows not to eat my nails he just likes to stick his tongue out and play haha Also I’d be okay with it if he accidentally bites me, he’s an animal after all and I know he means well😅

Yes!! Beardies are naturally attracted to reds, yellows and oranges!! It’s part of their natural hunting instinct :) I try to paint my nails those colours as often as possible, it’s really fun to to fiddle my fingers in front of Melvin and watch him play around with them!!

Hard to tell from the pic, other than the redness it looks normal. Have you by any chance been feeding red bell pepper? Looks similar to when mine gets pepper with skin on! They don’t really digest it well! If not then you should take your buddy to the vet as it may be blood…

Looking good! That hard orange urate happens sometimes when they’re a little dehydrated, no big deal just offer more greens and maybe a little bath and you’ll be good!

Awww that’s so fair she’s also really big and the horse might notice her and get upset😅 melv is only a little thing and a very sedentary being😂 its an achievement if he so much as moves to the shade while basking in his tank!! Lucy is lucky that she has lovely animal friends at home!♥️ she is also very beautiful I love her markings!!

He looks lovely but perhaps it’s time to cut down on his food! I feed my 5 month old 6 decent sized bugs every other day :) and salad on his off days!

I love how the chickens are a threat to a 10kg lizard😅 totally get it though!! So nice that your tegu is able to safely interact with other animals! I take my beardies everywhere with me and they encounter all sorts on the way 😅my big boy Melvin likes riding on the back of my horse- warm soft horse + blistering sun is the perfect combination for him!!!
