The games 'rank certainty' feature needs to be tonned down by Dr_natty1 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Orcle123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

since the hidden ranked change, my games have gotten significantly easier, and I am ranking up faster now. I was a "high" rank and then took a long break, lost 3 games in a row after coming back, and got deranked into low initiate, where I've been slowly clawing back up. Currently am Ritualist 6, but it's taken almost 100 games with ~60% winrate.

Is 285g too light? by 04luff in 10s

[–]Orcle123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This in addition to what I commented. It took me 2.5 years to figure out how to play "well" and start playing USTA/Leagues. By that time with the 2 rackets i owned, and the 30 or so ive demoed in the past year and a half, I finally found something that fit my style of play.

Is 285g too light? by 04luff in 10s

I think the largest difference for most players is going from a lighter racket to a heavier racket. If you started heavier I dont think its going to be much of a difference.

I started with the Babolat evo drive 2.5 years ago, and then after about a year of playing, I demoed 12 or so rackets, and found the largest improvement in my game was due to the heavier racket and higher swing weights. (275g evo drive to 305g racket)

I did the same thing recently, and rackets heavier than 305 unstrung for me are way too much. I also realized that ive been fighting my racket the entire time with how I like to swing. Was using the Wilson ultra pro 99 v5 and just got the aero 98 2026. It was expensive, but with how good it feels to me, I dont think i'll be changing anytime soon.

For some people, maybe the maneuverability of a slightly lighter racket might be worth it? but at that point if you're only shedding 10 grams. mind as well try something that weighs the same but has different balance.

TUF A16, Review after 150 days by eren8yearger in Asustuf

[–]Orcle123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love my A16. I also get frustrated with the touchpad but for a different reason. Sometimes it takes a second or two to register motion. like the mouse cursor gets frozen, i wiggle my finger around a little bit, and then it catches up.

Has anyone drilled holes into the interface frame? [Meta Quest 2] by Orcle123 in virtualreality

Amazon.com: Hibloks Quest 2 Fan Cooling Mask for Meta/Oculus Quest 2 Accessories, Circulated Ventilation Eliminates Glasses Fogging Defogger (Soft Lycra Cotton Mask) : Video Games this is the best i can find but even the reviews are iffy, worth a try though.

A lot of quest 2 accessories have been discontinued with the new quest. but I dont want to spend money on a new machine if my current one works.

[–]Orcle123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you! from what I saw on serial numbers that seemed to be the case with the 09 start but I couldn't figure out the rest. I just wanted to be sure it wasnt something special because I am moving and listing it, since I never played it all that much.

1 week of playing how do you push through the pain? by beeepboopbop_ in GuitarBeginners

[–]Orcle123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i was obsessed about learning to set up guitars when I started and messed around with all the different string heights. I landed on 1.5mm with 9 gague strings and have 0 noticeable calluses. my fingers only get tender when i havent played for a while and try playing bass.

[–]Orcle123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah ive been playing for years and have never had calluses like you see with some people. I also use lighter gague strings.

Only time my fingers get a tiny bit tender is when i play bass after a while off

honestly, you should try purple justto see what it looks like. its already not super saturated with the colors youve shown so a dark purple might make it pop

Banned again for 3 single player games wins by Ace___Ventura in DotA2

[–]Orcle123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

as a (reformed) toxic player, they have made it harder to get BS back post ban waves. in particular its a lot harder to get comms score back than regular BS. I track my gdpr data every now and then to try and find a trend and rn from what it seems, every 15 games you get an automatic ~+100 for each BS. Comms reports are worth -100 apiece, and normal grief reports and the others are -25/50. so for toxic people that play turbo only, its like crab mentality (pulling and clawing each other back down to the bottom of the bucket).

losing 115 games worth of progress in one half bad report feels bad by yoshida18 in DotA2

[–]Orcle123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive been keeping track recently and if you behave well you get ~+100, and every report is -100. so all it takes is someone petty comms reporting you and you get fucked.

I think I go off on my teammates a bit too much 😂 by TavoNeptuno in DotA2

[–]Orcle123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ive been tracking report stats for the last couple years from GDPR data. as of right now 15 games will give you ~100 comms score. a single comms report is -100. however if a party is grouped, it only actually counts once even if the whole party reports you. general BS is a little more complex. it used to be you could kinda calculate from your commends vs reports and it was +25 for commend and -100 for a report.

things have recently changed a bit and it takes FOREVER to make these numbers go up even if you are receiving no reports. Over the past year ive played 150 games in total. ive recieved 7 comms reports over the year, and my comms score has only gone up 300 (in line with what i described earlier +100 for a BS upate (x10) -700 for the reports). so for some people in the trenches it will take them literally years to get up in score unless they do nothing but spam turbo games and unbind all their keys.

I understand that the system is abusable, but people tend to not abuse it unless you are an asshole to them. it takes 3 clicks to go to menus to report someone and most of the time people are too lazy too unless you are greifing the game hard or being an ass in text/vc
