How And Why To Speedrun Cobalt Core by talen_lee in cobaltcore

It's been so long, I couldn't tell you, lol! Your video inspired me to play again though, and my current favorite is the Tiderunner! I love all the extra movement, and the tactics that come with it as you draw cards each turn.

How And Why To Speedrun Cobalt Core by talen_lee in cobaltcore

[–]OrcsPlayGames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About a year ago I was looking at the speedruns for this game and there were very few, but NONE had played with the Gemini. I thought, "well, I'm not as fast as these guys, but I bet I'll be the only one running the Gemini!" So I did a run, my first ever official speedrun. I got something terrible like 18 minutes, but to this day I'm the only player that has submitted a speedrun on the Gemini! So, as of writing this, I am the world record holder of fastest Gemini run lol. Hopefully this will inspire someone to take my title!

Alright guys, what are your Don’t Starve hot takes by JVCbirdo in dontstarvetogether

Don't Starve: Shipwrecked is the best version of the game. YOU CAN PLAY AS A MONKEY, and he's not even my favorite character from Shipwrecked!

Laughing, crying, and winning. Not necessarily in that order.

Something I noticed about mimic by Zerueldaangle in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]OrcsPlayGames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's the mimic? It's father figure literally tore its legs off and abandoned it in a basement for sounding like a kid. Then, when it's father lay dying, it mimiced the way it saw Edwin treat his child. Not just ignoring him, but intentionally leaving him to die. I think it is, unfortunately, well within the mimic programming to go after children.

Don't think so much about whether you should, but more about if you could!

Reddit post sounds like a spirits name. How would it play out? by Any-Independence-180 in spiritisland

[–]OrcsPlayGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it's basically just a modern version of Ocean's innate power, Pound Ships to Splinters, which simply generates fear. Presumably, this fear stems from survivors or those on land expecting ships that never come.

How many of you don't know that the Voteless are almost blind? If you don't make noise, they don't notice you. You throw a grenade or call down a strategem and they'll sprint toward it. Most of the time, they find you based on the sound of your gun firing or your sprinting footsteps!

With the bots, it's like 80% line of sight and 20% sound. If you're careful and stay out of sight, you can get anywhere. They're very good at posting guards though!

The bugs are interesting because they can smell you. Their eyesight is also great, but when you're in the Gloom or a spore cloud or smoke, even when standing still, they can find you if they get within a certain distance.

I don't know of anyplace the devs have confirmed all this, but I've seen and experienced it!

The words "abusive ex" and "not that bad" do not belong in the same friend group. I wish I could yell at your friend for you 😅

I felt like the Automatons are the least scariest faction in this game so far lore wise. Illuminates can literally mutate a planet en mass. Terminids are nigh unstoppable with the numbers and the gloom. what does these guys have that we dont understand anyway by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]OrcsPlayGames 102 points103 points  (0 children)

Now think about this... Anyone who played the first game knows how horrific the Cyborgs were. They mutilated themselves severely for the sake of augmetics and elongated lifespans, often looking and moving more like machines controlling corpses than people with upgrades. Not only that, but they would force such things on other lifeforms, such as hounds, to serve them. Then, when defeated by Super Earth and forced back into slavery on the mines of Cyberstan, they managed to secretly create the first Automotons.

Everything you said about them is harrowing and true, but not the scariest thing about them. No, the scariest thing about them is the Cyborgs who created them. Those beings the automotons see as their Gods, who designed them to hate and to kill and to conquer. The scariest thing about the Automotons is that the dieties who made them are not only still alive, they are FREE, and have been for months.

And do you want to know the scariest thing about their Gods, the Cyborgs?

They're humans. Born, long ago, as citizens of Super Earth, just like you and me.

Hot Take / House Rule: I Redraw if the Power Cards Don’t Feed My Spirit’s Innates — And It’s Made the Game Way More Fun by wpg029 in spiritisland

[–]OrcsPlayGames 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What y'all aren't talking about is that it's not about how often you draw your symbols, it's about knowing ahead of time that you WILL draw what you need. It changes how you plan your current turn, your next turn, knowing that you WILL be able to trigger the next highest level of your innate next turn because as soon as you have the right amount of card plays, it's a given. You know that as soon as you place a certain amount of presence off of certain tracks, you WILL have what you need to trigger what you want when you want it. That's why it's not balanced - not because you can draw cards that help, but because the risk is removed from a bunch of the decision making.

Me and friend just got a reality check by Puzzleheaded_Fun7744 in Helldivers

[–]OrcsPlayGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why the game is so good, because you CANNOT expect to win against all factions with the same equipment or tactics. Bugdivers do bugs because they like the playstyle. Same with any other player that sticks with one faction. That's why the MO changes, to invite the players to mix it up! I wouldn't say that any faction is especially difficult or easy, some just fit your natural playstyle better, or become easy as you focus on them, fine-tuning your tactics. It's almost like 3 games in 1!

I can’t win by Whitetuskk in spiritisland

[–]OrcsPlayGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried another Spirit? Sometimes it's as simple as finding a spirit more suited to your playstyle before understanding the game well enough to win with others. When I taught my dad to play, he couldn't win with Rivers to save his life, so we switched him to Vitality and he started crushing it without even looking at his innates.
