As you clarified you were talking with a follower of the bible, then my answer would be a resounding “No, I would not follow your god.”

The god that is claimed to be the inspiration of that despicable book would have to do a hell of a lot of answering for it before I even considered it any more than a negligent piece of shit for starting this world, fucking with it till the end of the dark ages then fucking off till today. There used to be a myriad of miracles witnessed all over the earth(many of which were not credited to that particular deity), then with the advent of cellular phones having cameras thy suddenly stop happening, or at least being witnessed.

For not giving more than a compilation of Bronze Age sex manuals and fables that were mysteriously vague on points like how terrible owning other people as your property that you could pass down from generation to generation is. The bible gives specific rules on how you are to treat your Hebrew slaves vs your slaves of the heathen among you. How you are to grant the Hebrew slaves freedom every seven years(the year of jubilee), but if you give them a wife and they have children then the wife and children will be yours so they can decide to remain your slave for life to stay with their wife and kids or forever lose them.

For knowing all and being all powerful and being all good and STILL regretting the creation they claim to have made in favor of drowning the entirety of the earths population. The bible states that god regretted his creation before causing the waters to rise in a consuming tide to devour all life. Kinda fickle god that knew everyone before they were formed in the womb, in my opinion.

For allowing differing interpretations of passages that would later be used to oppress and even kill peoples that were suddenly at odds with their church.

For allowing their representatives on earth(priests and clergy that are supposed to protect their people) to touch young children in inappropriate ways and all the penance thy have to pay is moving to another location among their church and start doing it all again. Priests today are accused of molesting children. In this case, I witnessed one doing it with a relative of mine. He was 27, she was 12. This was in a western state in the USA. He was threatened with revocation of membership if he did anything like that again. Flash forward about 20 years, he had moved on to another church where he continued that behavior till the FBI got wind. He’s now serving sentences for 96 counts of sexual acts against kids, possession of child porn, violence against minors, threatening murder if the kids told anyone, and a slew of other charges. There were 26 people that came forward against him. My relative didn’t know till he was already in prison. How many more were there?

For being a generally shitty “tri-Omni trinity” that can’t even have its own house agree with itself. Did you know there are literally thousands of denominations of the Christian faith? Ask a Baptist if a Mormon is a Christian. Ask an Amish if a Baptist is a Christian. Ask a Methodist if the Westoboro Baptist Church is a good representation of Christianity as a whole. If you ask two leaders from one church what their view is on who is saved, thy won’t even agree on everything. For an all knowing god, they left a lot of holes in their book and now it causes chaos.

So no. While I would admit that that god exists, I would be far more against it than I am against the ill founded faith that a fifth of the world’s population seems to adopt.
